All Cunsellrs are Mandatry Reprters and are cmpelled by legislatin t identify and respnd t children and yung peple at risk f harm. 2 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND WORK PERFORMED The Cunsellr s wrk and accuntabilities will vary depending n the service/s they are wrking in. All Services: Prvide, in accrdance with the rganisatin s Cde f Ethics and cntemprary prfessinal standards, fcused, cmpassinate and ethical cunselling and supprt t Rape & Dmestic Vilence Services Australia clients. Wrk in a cllegial manner with fellw staff members, ensuring prvisin f a seamless and prfessinal cunselling service. Ensure services prvided meet best practice standards and are tailred t suit the unique requirements f each client In cnsultatin with the client, develp, implement, and mnitr individual therapeutic plans. Advcate fr individual clients and assist them t access services and supprts. Negtiate and maintain interagency clinical care plans In cnjunctin with management prepare statements and reprts in supprt f clients Access debrief/handver t ensure all necessary infrmatin is cnveyed and t minimise the impacts f vicarius trauma n self. Meet statutry bligatins as Mandatry Reprters in cases f children and yung peple at risk f harm. Ensure that wrk is carried ut t a high standard f prfessinalism, efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy, timeframes are met and client cnfidentiality is maintained accrding t plicy. Ensure all dcumentatin is cncise, legible, secure and available t clleagues within the rganisatin. Attend and actively participate in clinical supervisin, team meetings, prfessinal develpment, in-service training, perfrmance appraisals and self-care plans. Cmply with infrmatin cllectin, quality imprvement, risk management prcedures, recrd keeping and administrative practices f the rganisatin. Remain infrmed abut the decisins f the Bard and abide by their decisins. Take all necessary steps t ensure cunselling practice is at the cutting edge f current best practice. Ensure wrk practices are ethical, and cmply with the cdes f the Australian Psychlgical Sciety, the Australian Assciatin f Scial Wrkers r the Cunsellrs and Psychtherapists Assciatin. Maintaining apprpriate therapeutic rapprt, whilst uphlding apprpriate bundaries and fcussing n prgressing client gals. Develping and maintaining a keen awareness and effective management strategies fr the wrk health and safety risk f vicarius trauma. Telephne and Online Service Respnding t a high level f client requests fr infrmatin and services acrss multiple prgrams perated by Rape &Dmestic Vilence Services Australia in a timely and effective manner. Cmmunity Based Cunselling Service Maintaining client cnfidentiality whilst building supprtive relatinships with the rganisatin and Rape & Dmestic Vilence Services Australia supervisr while wrking remtely. Managing tight time cnstraints. Sexual Assault Cunselling Australia Maintaining client cnfidentiality whilst building supprtive relatinships with the rganisatin and Rape & Dmestic Vilence Services Australia supervisr while wrking remtely. DECISION MAKING The Cunsellr is prfessinal and experienced in her/his vcatin and is respnsible fr making apprpriate ethical and clinical judgements in their daily wrk. 4 INTERACTION AND COMMUNICATION The Cunsellr s interactin and cmmunicatin will be with internal and external stakehlders and will differ depending n the Service/s they wrk in: All Services Where the Cunsellr believes cntact between Rape & Dmestic Vilence Services Australia and anther agency will benefit a client and permissin is btained frm the client, the Cunsellr will facilitate an interagency cnversatin. Telephne and Online Service The Cunsellr will liaise with and seek guidance frm the Shift Supervisr regarding their wrk n a daily basis. Cmmunity Based Cunselling Service The Cunsellr will have daily cntact with the staff frm the Wmen s Health Centre regarding client appintments and referrals t the service. Secndary Preventin Cunselling Service The Cunsellr will interact with peple victimised by clients vilence and supprters f the clients t cnduct evaluatin f the client s prgress.
