We prvide services thrugh fur service delivery areas: State Schls Divisin delivers high quality educatin t mre than 70 percent f all Queensland schl students at prep, primary and secndary levels. Training and Emplyment Divisin wrks t meet the current and future needs f the ecnmy thrugh building a wrld class training and skilling system t enhance the skills f Queenslanders and ptimise emplyment pprtunities thrugh the regulatin f the state s apprenticeship and traineeship system, strategic investment in training and skills, and the prvisin f whle f gvernment leadership n emplyment and labur market issues. Plicy, Perfrmance and Planning Divisin takes a strategic apprach t driving the business f the prtfli, acrss, schling, training and emplyment, early childhd, educatin and care and Indigenus educatin plicy. The divisin engages in, plicy develpment and intergvernmental relatins, legislatin, gvernance and planning, and mnitrs and reviews the department s perfrmance framewrk. The Early Childhd Educatin and Care Divisin supprts accessible and quality early childhd prgrams and services fr yung Queensland children and their families. The Divisin regulates educatin and care services, funds access t, and the delivery f, quality early childhd prgrams and services, invests in strategic innvative and integrated prgrams and wrks with prviders t mnitr and meet changing demands and wrkfrce needs. The Divisin als wrks clsely with the State Schling Divisin t prvide lcal early childhd educatin and care regulatin, integratin and innvative services including transitinal prgrams, infrmatin and parental supprt. 1 f 5

Fr mre infrmatin abut the department, please visit ur website at Yur pprtunity As the Business Services Manager yu will: Crdinate and versee the delivery f a range f crprate services that supprt the educatinal management activities f a schl. In line with the schl wrkfrce plan as determined by the Principal, manage the timely delivery f rganisatinal executive and administrative supprt, including the develpment and delivery f systems and prcesses and the supervisin f nn-teaching wrkfrce. Encurage an envirnment in which quality services are delivered by actively supprting the schl management team and schl cmmunity and leading by example The Business Services Manager reprts t the Principal and liaises with Deputy Principals, Heads f Department r Curriculum Crdinatrs where applicable. Yur rle Yu will have respnsibility fr leading the fllwing activities and delivery f the fllwing key tasks: Finance Prvide financial management strategies t the schl management team t ensure the management and applicatin f schl financial activities are in accrdance with schl peratinal plans, legislatin and departmental guidelines. In cnsultatin with the Principal, cntribute t financial planning prcesses including develping, planning, mnitring and reviewing the annual schl budget and regularly reprting t the schl management team. Depending n the size and scpe f the schl, Business Services Managers at this level will typically wrk cllabratively with the Principal n budgets (general/ revenue ) f n average between apprximately $0.5 mil and $.95 mil in a primary setting. In a secndary envirnment the average budget allcatins will be between apprximately $0.5 mil and $3.0 mil at this classificatin level. Human Resurces Prvide advice in the frmulatin f a nn-teaching wrkfrce planning and manage implementatin t ensure availability f apprpriately trained staff t supprt the schl peratins. Crdinate and versee the day t day activities f nn-teaching staff cmprising recruitment, inductin and training, rganising vacancy prcessing, chairing recruitment and selectin panels, identify future staff skills requirements and rganise skills develpment. Cllabratively implement Managing Unsatisfactry Perfrmance (MUP) prcesses and assist with rehabilitatin prcesses fr nn-teaching persnnel. Wrk with the principal in leading change within the nn-teaching team ensuring human resurce practices cnfrm t current standards and practices and that awards and cnditins are met fr all nn-teaching staff. 2 f 5

3 Facilities/Asset Management Prject manage all aspects f facilities including develping and evaluating new wrk and renvatin prjects in cllabratin with the principal, including negtiating with external cntractrs. Make recmmendatins and decisins in cllabratin with the principal. Plan, manage and review the Minr Wrks, Grunds maintenance, and Grunds Imprvement budgets held by the schl. As required, prvide facilities management advice t principal, schl management team and cmmunity. Principal manages the verall decisin making prcess. Administratin Develp and manage prvisin f administrative supprt t schl peratins in accrdance with schl guidelines. Interpret departmental plicies fr thers and versee prvisin f training and prfessinal develpment fr schl supprt staff. Prvide supprt and leadership in the prvisin f a cmprehensive range f executive and administrative supprt services including the ability t manage multiple tasks with cnflicting pririties and timeframes Cmmunicatin (Peple and Partnerships) Participate in the decisin making activities f the schl management team, particularly with regard t prviding input abut financial management issues and the efficient and effective prvisin f crprate services t supprt schl peratins. Liaise with departmental fficers and cmmunity representatives t ensure the prvisin f crprate services within and t the schl is apprpriate and in accrdance with equity, prbity and legislative requirements. Establish and maintain relatinships with ther Business Services Managers, internal and external stakehlders, and cmmunity representatives t ensure efficient and effective crprate services in a schl envirnment Leadership The Business Services Manager plays a key rle in leading rganisatinal change within the schl by keeping nn-teaching staff infrmed f decisins, prcedures and plicies that impact n their rle and cntributin t the achievement f rganisatinal gals.
