A prbatinary perid f 6 mnths applies. A salary range f $65,000 t $75,000 pa with incentives will be ffered based n experience and ability. Reprting Liaisn: Reprts directly t and wrks in cnjunctin with the STARplex General Manager. This rle liaises with STARplex Managers. Supervisry Respnsibility: STARplex Fitness Centre staff ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS (Qualificatins, Skills, Knwledge & Experience): Qualificatins Current Senir First Aid Certificate Current Resuscitatin Certificate Current driver s license
2 Minimum Certificate 4 in Fitness Tertiary qualificatin (in Business and/r Management) preferred Skills High level f cmmunicatin skills. Sund public relatins and custmer service skills. Gd rganisatin and time management skills in rder t priritise and meet deadlines. Infrmatin Technlgy applicatins fr fitness industry Effective KPI s and reprting against business plan and budget Experience Demnstrated passin fr imprving peple s health and fitness Minimum three years experience in a cmmercial fitness centre at management level Budget, prgramming and strategy implementatin experience MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Business Planning Frmulate and implement an nging fitness centre business plan that establishes the peratinal strategies which
3 cntribute t the STARplex missin, visin, values and business drivers. Establish Key Perfrmance Indicatrs t mnitr fitness centre prgress n the implementatin and perfrmance f the plan. Reprt mnthly n KPI s t the General Manager Wrkfrce develpment Frmulate and implement a wrkfrce develpment plan which enables the fitness centre t be an emplyer f chice by: - Attracting and retaining quality emplyees Increasing prductivity and prfitability Imprving the level f custmer service Reducing turnver, absenteeism and wrkplace injury The wrkfrce develpment plan will build and mtivate a high perfrming team and address the key areas f recruitment, training, management, appraisal, reward, wrkplace practices and successin planning. Club Culture Define and cmmunicate t staff and members a family friendly club culture based n STARplex values which demnstrate prfessinalism, innvatin, educatin and excellence. Seek staff wh want t represent that culture and train staff t live the club culture and fster a team apprach. Measure hw well staff represent the club culture and recgnise thse wh d it well. Financial Perfrmance
4 With reference t the business plan prepare an annual budget fr the fitness centre Mnitr financial perfrmance against budget and reprt mnthly t the General Manager. Respnd t financial trends and instigate crrective strategies where these fall behind budget Operatinal Management Apply a sund understanding f fitness prgramming, physical exercise and custmer care in the day t day peratin f the fitness centre Emply sund ethics, cmmercial judgement and decisin making capability in all business relatinships and dealings with staff and clleagues Ensure best practice prcesses by establishing effective wrking systems and accurate, reliable measurement tls Attend and cntribute t meetings f Cre Manager s and the Business Operatins Cmmittee. Establish regular cmmunicatins with the marketing manager t ensure sales and marketing peratins are respnding t fitness business plan targets Apply STARplex plicies and initiatives in the fitness centre Attend t custmer cmplaints and feedback Meet industry and legislative requirements fr accreditatin and registratin f the fitness centre and its staff and fr its safe, cleanly peratin Establish and maintain gd relatinships with stakehlders and particularly with the wider Trinity Cllege cmmunity
5 Quality cntrl Ensure all peratinal safety standards are met, plant and equipment is maintained and crrect prcedures fllwed Arrange regular safety and health audits f the fitness centre t ensure a safe, efficient and envirnmentally friendly peratin and the systematic maintenance f plant and equipment including air cnditining. Reprt t apprpriate persn where rectificatin is required. Infrmatin Technlgy Develp in cnjunctin with the Marketing and IT departments an Infrmatin Technlgy Strategy that enhances client cmmunicatin, cllects sales data and client retentin infrmatin and facilitates infrmatin fr peratinal reprts Establish a sund understanding f the applicatin and use f Links Centre Management Sftware and ther sftware required t facilitate the management rle. OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES Prvide infrmatin, instructin and training t ensure that each emplyee is safe frm injury and risk t health Ensure all staff and cntractrs fllw OHS&W safety prcedures fr any maintenance r repair wrk Revise and practice safety and emergency prcedures n a regular basis Respnd t emplyees cncerns and enquiries n health and safety Respnd t any wrkplace injury by fllwing STARplex plicies Develp safe wrking prcedures
