1 Psitin Title I.T Prject Officer Classificatin Higher Educatin Wrker, Level 7 Respnsible t The Psitin I.T Manager The psitin assists with the cmpletin f varius IT prjects intended t enable the nging administratin and management f the Micrsft Windws, Macintsh OS X, and Unix/Linux systems within the Flrey Neurscience Institutes. The incumbent requires a detailed technical understanding f bth Micrsft Windws and varius Unix/Linux systems, and wrking knwledge f Macintsh OS X. This psitin als requires the incumbent t have knwledge and experience f general strage, netwrking, backup and virtualisatin technlgies. Excellent written cmmunicatin skills are essential and knwledge f ITIL cnfiguratin management is preferred. Qualificatins and Experience A Degree in Cmputer Science r equivalent qualificatin with a minimum f 5 years experience. FLOREY NEUROSCIENCE INSTITUTES T help create ne f the wrld s tp 10 neurscience institutes, the Hward Flrey Institute, the Brain Research Institute and the Natinal Strke Research Institute have amalgamated t frm the Flrey Neurscience Institutes (FNI). The FNI has a cmbined perating budget f $30m pa and is nearing cmpletin f a $225 millin prject that includes the cnstructin f tw new purpse-built state-f-the-art research facilities; ne in Parkville and the ther in Heidelberg. The Mental Health Research Institute and University f Melburne will c-lcate with the FNI in these new facilities. Cllectively, they will cmbine their wrld-class research skills t aid in the diagnsis and develpment f mre effective treatments fr millins f Australians affected by brain disrders every year. The new facilities at Parkville and Heidelberg will accmmdate arund 700 staff and students. Tgether with c-lcated ccupants we will share scientific platfrms and seek t imprve efficiencies thrugh shared management services. 2 Our Missin: Our Visin: Our Values: T Imprve life thrugh brain research T be recgnised as a leading internatinal brain research facility Innvatin and excellence, cmmitment and passin, integrity and rigur, cllabratin and team wrk The Psitin Key Respnsibilities Prvide technical expertise t reslve prject-based wrk assignments; Implement plicies, prcedures, and technlgies t ensure system security thrugh secure system access, mnitring, cntrl, and rutine security evaluatins; Perfrm planning, implementatin, and dcumentatin tasks fr varius IT prjects including: Implementatin f a cnfiguratin management database system; Migratin f dmains; Cntent ppulatin f Intranet cntent management system; and Implementatin f resurce bking system; Recmmend and execute mdificatins t current supprt systems in rder t imprve efficiency, reliability, and perfrmance; Audit and dcument existing IT equipment and systems; Ensure supprted systems cmply with plicies, standards, licensing agreements, cnfiguratin guidelines, and best-practices fr maintaining regulatry cmpliance; Ensure secure user access and rle validatin prcesses; Authr, update and/r maintain team s peratinal manuals t reflect new envirnment and new supprt prcesses; Develp, dcument, and maintain system training materials and systems dcumentatin fr educating end users and new IT staff. Input int the develpment f technlgy standards; Prvide technical expertise t reslve peratinal wrk assignments; Maintenance f the infrastructure in accrdance with industry best practices and peratinal cnfiguratin dcumentatin. 3 Reprting & Liaisn Due t the wide-spread nature f the IT prjects, the psitin is required t engage and interface with all internal custmers, which includes research scientists, students and staff. The incumbent is expected t deliver excellent custmer service. The incumbent will be wrking with the IT Team f the Flrey Neurscience Institutes, and reprts t the IT Manager, wh prvides technical guidance and directin t ensure the expected quality f the services are maintained. Wrk under brad supervisin, and perate n a day t day basis with cnsiderable independence. Occupatinal Health & Safety We all have a rle t play when it cmes t health and safety in ur wrkplace.
