Specific licensing requirements relating t this cmpetency, including requirements fr refresher training, shuld be btained frm the relevant state/ territry Wrk Health and Safety Regulatry Authrity.. Award issued Statement f Attainment in HLTAID001 Prvide Cardipulmnary Resuscitatin. Validity HLTAID001 Prvide cardipulmnary resuscitatin must be updated and cmpleted at least every 12 mnths frm the date f cmpletin. HLTAID001 Prvide CPR Training and V

There are n specific entry requirements r pre-requisites but it is recmmended that participants have the Fundatin skills described such as language, literacy and numeracy that are essential t perfrmance. Oral cmmunicatin in rder t make accurate verbal reprt t emergency respnse service and wrkplace supervisr. The remaining fundatin skills essentials t perfrm are explicit in the perfrmance criteria f this unit. 4 HLTAID001 Prvide Cardipulmnary Resuscitatin (CPR) risk demnstrated safe manual handling techniques assessed airway, breathing and respnsiveness f casualty perfrmed at least fur minutes f uninterrupted CPR n bth an infant resuscitatin manikin and an adult resuscitatin manikin placed n the flr, demnstrating the fllwing techniques n each: checking fr respnse and nrmal breathing recgnising abnrmal breathing pening and clearing the airway using crrect hand lcatin, cmpressin depth rate in line with the ARC recmmended rati f cmpressins and ventilatins acting in the event f regurgitatin r vmiting fllwing single rescuer prcedure, including the demnstratin f a rtatin f peratrs with minimal interruptins t cmpressins fllwed the prmpts f an Autmated External Defibrillatr (AED) prvided an accurate verbal reprt f the incident respnded t at least ne simulated resuscitatin scenari cntextualised t the candidate s wrkplace/cmmunity setting. This includes knwledge f: state/territry regulatins, first aid cdes f practice and wrkplace prcedures including: ARC Guidelines relevant t the prvisin f CPR safe wrk practices t minimise risks and ptential hazards infectin cntrl principles and prcedures, including use f standard precautins requirements fr currency f skill and knwledge legal, wrkplace and cmmunity cnsideratins, including: need fr stress-management techniques and available supprt fllwing an emergency situatin duty f care requirements respectful behaviur twards a casualty wn skills and limitatins cnsent privacy and cnfidentiality requirements imprtance f debriefing cnsideratins when prviding CPR, including: airway bstructin due t bdy psitin apprpriate duratin and cessatin f CPR apprpriate use f an AED chain f survival standard precautins basic anatmy and physilgy relating t: absence f nrmal breathing anatmy f the external chest physilgy relating t respnse/cnsciusness upper airway anatmy and effect f psitinal change.
