Plicy, Perfrmance and Planning Divisin takes a strategic apprach t driving the business f the prtfli, acrss, schling, training and emplyment, early childhd, educatin and care and Indigenus educatin plicy. The divisin engages in, plicy develpment and intergvernmental relatins, legislatin, gvernance and planning, and mnitrs and reviews the department s perfrmance framewrk. The Early Childhd Educatin and Care Divisin supprts accessible and quality early childhd prgrams and services fr yung Queensland children and their families. The Divisin regulates educatin and care services, funds access t, and the delivery f, quality early childhd prgrams and services, invests in strategic innvative and integrated prgrams and wrks with prviders t mnitr and meet changing demands and wrkfrce needs. Fr mre infrmatin abut the department, please visit ur website at Yur pprtunity As the Business Services Manager yu will: Prvide strategic advice and manage the develpment and delivery f a range f crprate services that supprt the educatinal management activities f a schl. In line with the schl wrkfrce plan as determined by the Principal, lead and manage the directin setting, develpment f services, enhancement f nn-teaching staff skills and supervisin f nn-teaching wrkfrce and prvide an efficient and effective interface as part f the schl management team and the schl cmmunity. The Business Services Manager reprts t the Principal and liaises with Deputy Principals, Heads f Department and Curriculum Crdinatrs where applicable. Yur rle Yu will have respnsibility fr leading the fllwing activities and delivery f the fllwing key tasks: Finance Prvide financial management advice and strategies t the schl management team t ensure the sund management f schl funds in accrdance with schl peratinal plans, including verseeing f financial activities ensuring cmpliance with relevant legislatin, directives and departmental plicy and prcedures. Crdinate and implement administrative and infrmatin management systems and prcesses fr the efficient and effective planning, mnitring and delivery f financial prcesses including preparatin and reviewing f schl budgets and perfrmance reprting. Depending n the size and scpe f the schl, Business Services Managers at this level will typically wrk cllabratively with the Principal n budgets (general/ revenue) f n average between apprximately $0.5 mil and $.95 mil in a primary setting. In a secndary envirnment the average budget allcatins will be between apprximately $0.5 mil and $3.0 mil at this classificatin level. Human Resurces In cllabratin with the Principal lead the change management prcesses and manage the develpment and implementatin f the nn-teaching Wrkfrce Plan t ensure nging prvisin f apprpriately trained human resurce capacity t supprt the schl peratins. Identify future staff skills requirements, rganise skills develpment and mentring t ensure apprpriate level f capacity available, including prvisin fr staff successin. Oversee and crdinate the day t day peratins f nn-teaching staff including rganising vacancy prcessing, chairing recruitment and selectin panels, inductin and training and ensuring human resurce practices cnfrm t current standards and practices and that awards and cnditins are met. Research and prvide crprate advisry services in the schl n a variety f human resurce management practices, including emplyee relatins, wrkplace health and safety, ccupatinal rehabilitatin, payrll anmalies, cntractual prcurement purchases and prject management. 2 f 5

3 Cllabratively manage Managing Unsatisfactry Perfrmance (MUP) prcesses and assist with rehabilitatin prcesses fr nn-teaching persnnel. Facilities/Asset Management Prvide strategic facilities management advice t principal, schl management team and schl cmmunity. Plan, manage and review the Minr Wrks, Grunds maintenance, and Grunds Imprvement budgets held by the schl including cnducting negtiatins with external cntractrs, verseeing schl maintenance and maintaining asset registers. Administratin Develp the strategic directin f and manage prvisin f administrative supprt t schl peratins in accrdance with departmental plicies. Interpret departmental plicies fr thers and versee prvisin f training and prfessinal develpment fr schl supprt staff. Manage the crprate infrmatin systems including financial and human resurce reprting prcesses. Practively participate in fstering a psitive team culture fcused n service delivery and based n cllabratin, efficient wrk practices and encuragement f innvatin. Cmmunicatin (Peple and Partnerships) Actively participate in schl management team decisin making prcesses with regard t financial management issues and prvisin f crprate services t supprt schl peratins. Liaise with departmental fficers and cmmunity representatives t ensure the prvisin f crprate services within and t the schl is apprpriate and in accrdance with equity, prbity and legislative requirements. Establish netwrks and liaise with ther Business Services Managers and crprate service persnnel t enhance individual schl peratins and prvide advice and feedback fr imprvements in cmmunicatin prtcls and systematic services. Leadership The Business Services Manager adpts a whle f schl strategic apprach by nurturing a cntinuus learning envirnment and facilitating a quality crprate service that supprt schls gals. Management The Business Services Manager manages the prvisin and applicatin f resurces t supprt the strategic directin f the schl ensuring: Outcmes The service management achieves schl and system bjectives. The ptimal use f resurces achieves quality utcmes. The develped systems and peratins cntribute t effective management. The utilisatin f infrmatin and technlgy fr effective administratin. The Business Services Manager supprts students shwing cncern fr their welfare and develpment and treating them with respect.
