This includes, but is nt limited t: Frmative 5 (ECDCC) Calitin planning and implementatin Crdinatin f cmmunity resurces Cmmunity engagement Prgram reprting and evaluatin Parent Supprt and educatin Prgram planning, develpment, implementatin and facilitatin Crdinate and administer the Ages and Stages Prgram This prfessinal psitin prvides supprt fr the attainment f annual gals and initiatives within the brader framewrk f the City/Department s annual and 3 year Strategic and Business Plans by prviding direct, frnt line prgrams and services t cmmunity residents. Key Result Areas: 1. Peple leadership The Early Childhd Develpment Specialist participates in building chesive interdependent teams that wrk t achieve bjectives and, in cllabratin with ther departments, the verall visin f the City f Chestermere within the cntext f the Strategic Initiatives cntained within the rlling 3 year Strategic Plan. Main respnsibilities: As a prfessinal, prvide supprt within the bunds f plicy and prcedures. Participate in the building f a chesive team, e.g., prvide pprtunities s that team members knw f and value each ther s expertise and skills, fster an envirnment where staff assume respnsibility fr each ther s prfessinal develpment and grwth, encurage a passin fr their wrk and a sense f team. Represent the Early Childhd Services team and act as a mdel f the desired values, attitudes, skills and behavirs that cntribute t a safe, ethical wrk envirnment and healthy team functining, ften in the rle f a champin f change.

Early Childhd Services team Classificatin Title Junir Prfessinal f, EC Develpment Specialist Department Cmmunity Services Page 2 f 6 The Early Childhd Services team represents the values and beliefs f the City f Chestermere, bth internally and externally, and netwrks effectively with stakehlders, the cmmunity, ther prfessinals and service prviders. Early Childhd Services team members build leaders thrughut the rganizatin and the cmmunity. Main respnsibilities: Demnstrate the City values f Cllabratin, Humur and Fun, Integrity, Prfessinalism, and Accuntability. As required, prvide input int the develpment and implementatin f Early Childhd Services pririties regarding trends and cncerns affecting staff and residents, gaps in service, and pprtunities fr new services and partnerships. Ensure a safe and healthy wrk envirnment fr staff, visitrs, the cmmunity and stakehlders, e.g., participate in wrkplace safety initiatives, participate in frmal and infrmal wrksite safety and envirnment inspectins and audits. Supprt planning t ensure that prgrams are ffered with full cnsideratin f the safety f staff and participants, e.g., supervisin, staff/participant rati, facility/equipment safety, emergency preparedness, reprting f ptential risk issues, cnfidentiality etc. Respnsible fr using cnfidential infrmatin apprpriately, and maintaining the cnfidentiality and security f all infrmatin related t the City. 3. Financial and administrative Main respnsibilities: Participate in the identificatin f ptential financial risks. Manage the develpment, mnitring and reprting f the annual Frmative 5 budget (ECDCC and United Way Grants), participate in the annual Early Childhd Services budget prcess, ensure any ptential budget difficulties are cmmunicated t the Early Childhd Services Crdinatr. Cllect and evaluate data in the frm f mnthly and peridic reprts as required fr reprting t funders. Prepare funding prpsals fr annual renewals f assigned Grants and prepare supplemental prpsals fr additinal funding fr prjects peridically as required. Participate in the explratin f frward thinking partnership and funding pprtunities, cst and perating efficiencies. 4. As required, participate in the assessment f the current and future needs f the Early Childhd Services team, gathering input and feedback, engaging cmmunity members and parents and reprting n cmmunity and parent invlvement by tracking and reprting the hurs cntributed t the prgram by vlunteers. Represent the Early Childhd Services team internally, e.g., undertake studies regarding plicies, prjects, and services. As required, participate in the enhancement and implementatin f City, Department and Funder Plicies and Prcedures within legislative, regulatry requirements and best practices, e.g., Guiding Principles and Standards fr Prvincial Parent Link Centres, City f Chestermere s Scial Plan. Prvide assistance t the Early Childhd Services Crdinatr n sensitive issues. Participate as a member f the Chestermere Emergency Respnse / Emergency Scial Services team in preparing and enabling the cmmunity t respnd in the event f a lcal disaster r reginal disaster. 4 Required educatin and experience: Classificatin Title Junir Prfessinal f, EC Develpment Specialist Department Cmmunity Services Page 4 f 6 University degree in Scial Wrk, Child and Yuth Services, Applied Child Studies, Educatin, Early Childhd Educatin, Psychlgy r related discipline and 2 years f related and prgressive experience in develping and facilitating prgrams r Diplma in Scial Wrk, Child and Yuth Services, Applied Child Studies, Educatin, Early Childhd Educatin, Psychlgy r related discipline and 5 years f related and prgressive experience in develping and facilitating prgrams Required knwledge, skills, and attributes: Required certificatins and/r dcumentatin Scial Wrkers must be registered with the Alberta Cllege f Scial Wrkers (ACSW). Clear Criminal Recrd, Child Interventin and Vulnerable Sectr Checks deemed satisfactry by the City. Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver s License and a Driver s Abstract deemed satisfactry by the City. Maintain valid Standard First Aid CPR C and AED certificatins. Expected skills and attributes Cmmunicatin and custmer service skills with the ability t cmmunicate effectively in written and ral frm, e.g., maintain nging cmmunicatin t anticipate and prevent ptential prblems, develp and maintain psitive and effective wrking relatinships with staff, vlunteers, the public and ther stakehlders.
