We prvide advice and guidance fr University managers and staff n all emplyment issues, thrughut the emplyment cycle, including recruitment, reward, perfrmance management and s n. We are als respnsible fr verseeing relatinships with the trades unins recgnised by the University (Amicus, UCU and Unisn). The Service is led by a Directr and a Head f HR Operatins and the main features f the Service are as fllws: A team f HR Business Partners (BPs), wh are aligned with the fur University Clleges. BPs act as the interface between Clleges and Divisins and the Human Resurces Divisin. Their rle is t prvide high quality, business fcused and strategic level advice, guidance and supprt t the Head f Cllege and their management team. The peratinal cre f the HR functin cmprises a team f advisers wh prvide a practive and cmprehensive HR service t areas f the University, encmpassing all aspects f peple management (including perfrmance, absence, discipline, grievances and s n). The advisry team is augmented by a Head f HR Operatins whse primary remit is t take the lead in reviewing the peratinal service prvided by all areas f the functin. An administrative team supprts the advisry team. The administrative team als deals with cntract administratin and enquiries frm staff. A recruitment team that prvides advice, guidance and active supprt t clients and develps and champins innvative practice in accrdance with all emplyment legislatin and with the University's recruitment and selectin plicies and prcedures. Additinally, there are teams t supprt: Equal pprtunities, a team prviding a cnfidential service, ffering advice and practical help n a wide range f persnal and wrk-related issues. Principal Accuntabilities Thrugh taking respnsibility fr their wn wrklad, with guidance available frm the Senir HR Advisr and HR Administrative Team Leader, the pst hlder will be respnsible fr prducing accurate and effective dcumentatin in line with established prcedures, as are required t meet the cmplex requirements f the University s plicies, which will include: Extensins t fixed-term cntracts Changes f hurs Hnrary Titles Resignatins Retirements Redundancy Maternity, paternity and ther ad-hc leave requests Flexible wrking Emplyment and mrtgage references Grievance and disciplinary hearings Occupatinal Health, Cunselling and Welfare referrals Receiving and respnding t rutine prblems r queries, referring mre cmplex issues t thers, where apprpriate Updating manual and IT recrds fr existing staff in line with payrll deadlines Develping a gd wrking knwledge f systems and prcesses t facilitate imprvements and btain efficiencies, whenever feasible Prviding effective administrative supprt t assist with the cmpletin f HR prjects and initiatives Attending meetings and taking ntes f discussins and prceedings and prducing accurate/timely dcumentatin t supprt HR prcesses/prcedures.
