3 T be the first pint f cntact and t prvide high quality receptin cver and custmer service t all disabled students, their parents and University staff wrking with disabled students as well as ther visitrs t the AccessAbility Centre. Receive and respnd t frnt line enquiries, queries and requests frm Centre users, (whether by , in persn r by telephne) in a prfessinal, curteus and effective manner. These enquiries are varied and encmpass a range f issues relating t the requirements f disabled students wh use the Centre. Apprpriate actin has t be taken n the pst-hlder s initiative r referred t the apprpriate member f Centre Staff; ability t regularly respnd t difficult phne calls and situatins invlving students and/r parents. Structuring, preparatin and daily administratin f diaries fr six members f Centre Staff using Micrsft Outlk. Cmplete independence and using wn initiative t priritise appintments and meetings t ensure the time f Study Advisers and the Head f Centre is maximised and efficiently utilised. Issuing and updating student recrds in electrnic and paper frmat wrking with recrd systems (eg SITS), Centre databases, staff and students in the AccessAbility Centre and acrss the University t btain infrmatin as required. Prviding secretarial and administrative supprt t an agreed standard fr the Centre secretary and AccessAbility Centre staff t deliver a timely, high quality service fr ne t ne Study Adviser appintments, Open Days and UCAS visit days. Duties will include, registering students disabilities n SITs; accessing apprpriate files fr Study Advisers in their daily wrk; frmatting and distributin f Assessed Wrk Cver Sheets t students, the Exams Office and Departments via AccessAbilityTutrs; assisting with the prcessing f student wrk submitted t Study Advisers; fllwing up enquiries; preparing and distributing marketing/pre-entry material. Using knwledge f the Disabled Students Allwance (DSA) applicatin prcess bdies t enable the prcessing f disabled student applicatins fr the DSA including liaisn with Registry and Admissins when necessary and updating the recrd f applicants in the AAC. Receiving and recrding payments by cash and cheque, ensuring that receipts are issued. Cntributing ideas and slutins t enhance the efficiency f the rle and the Centre s services. Other duties cmmensurate with the pst as directed by the Centre Secretary r Head f Centre. Qualificatins, Knwledge and Experience Essential Experience f wrking within a receptin envirnment * Desirable Minimum f 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C r abve r equivalent qualificatins.* Either Experience f wrking with disabled peple within a custmer facing envirnment with a high fcus n quality service r a willingness t participate in training in disability awareness and high level custmer service.
