2 Main Function: 1. To provide a credit control and debt recovery service for the College. 2. To supervise the Credit Controller involved in the Credit Control and Debt Recovery function, ensuring that procedures are being followed. Main Duties - Generic 1. To provide leadership and line management in the area(s) of responsibility, ensuring effective team working and high levels of professional conduct and the effective use of resources 2. Ensure that relevant statutory provisions relating to health and safety, safeguarding and equality and diversity are implemented, monitored and regularly reviewed so that legal requirements are met. 3. To embed effective quality assurance and quality improvement arrangements in the area of responsibility and constantly seek to identify and adopt best practice approaches 4. To create and sustain effective relationships with internal and external customers and other stakeholders and partners and to contribute to, and develop, a positive and regional team ethos within Student Administration and across all College centres 5. To participate in the College s staff appraisal/performance management scheme and professional development arrangements and ensure that these are effectively implemented for all staff within the area. Main Duties Specific 1. To establish, implement and monitor standard payment periods and final notice periods. 2. To ensure compliance with College policies on Course Fees, Remission from Course Fees and Refund of Course Fees. 3. To issue statements of account and reminder letters to debtors. 4. To implement recovery procedures beyond standard reminders, including liaison with College solicitors and Debt Collector to facilitate debt recovery. 5. To liaise with customers to achieve recovery of debt. 6. To agree, where appropriate, instalment arrangements for the collection of debt. 7. To provide management reports on the status of the College debt. 8. To maintain accurate records in order that information may be easily retrieved. 2
