2 WELCOME The 6 th Annual Red Meat Sector Conference will be held at the Langham Hotel, 83 Symonds Street, Auckland on Monday, 25 July It is the annual conference jointly hosted by the Meat Industry Association of New Zealand Inc (MIA) a voluntary trade association representing New Zealand meat processors, marketers and exporters; and Beef + Lamb New Zealand Ltd (B+LNZ); the farmer owned industry organisation representing New Zealand s sheep and beef farmers. The Red Meat Sector Conference 2016 provides delegates from across the red meat sector with a programme of high quality speakers and ample opportunity to network. The goal of the conference is to promote and foster the red meat sector by providing a framework for engagement between farmers, industry and service providers as well as showcasing expertise and best practice. MIA and B+LNZ developed the Red Meat Sector Strategy in May The Strategy reflects the broad recognition of the underlying challenges to the sector s sustainable profitability, but also clearly defines the opportunities for the sector to realise its full potential and continue to be a principal driver of New Zealand s economy. The 6th Annual Red Meat Sector Conference will once again build on the core themes identified in the Strategy; coordinated in-market behaviour, efficient and aligned procurement and sector best practice. Two major social events are planned during the conference; they are a welcome cocktail function on the evening of Sunday 24 July, and a gala dinner to be held on the evening of Monday 25 July. We hope that you will be able to join us in July for the Red Meat Sector Conference 2016.

3 OBJECTIVE, AUDIENCE AND SPONSORSHIP OBJECTIVE The objective of the Red Meat Sector Conference is to promote and foster the red meat sector by providing a framework for engagement with farmers, industry and networks, as well as showcasing innovation and best practice. AUDIENCE The Red Meat Sector Conference attracts delegates and sponsors from across the spectrum of the red meat sector. These include key figures; leaders from farming, processing and marketing, senior government officials, representatives from associated industries and sectors i.e. shipping, packaging, banking, farming supplies and research and development. The sponsors are responsible for providing all their requirements i.e. banners, promotional and any other material. The sponsors are required to make the necessary deposit payment for the sponsorship with application, and final payment no later than 24 June Sponsors are responsible for the security of their own equipment and materials whilst at the conference. 13 TERMS 1. Applications will be processed in the order that they are received. 2. Applicants will be advised of the availability of the sponsorship package requested within two (2) working days of receipt of a completed application. 3. Upon confirmation of the availability of preferred sponsorship package, applicants will be requested to pay the deposit for the package. 4. A 50% deposit (plus GST) is required within 14 days of confirmation of available package to secure the sponsorship package. 5. Once the deposit is received a letter confirming your organisation as a sponsor will be provided. 6. Sponsorship benefits commence from the date of confirmation of sponsorship and are dependent on time. Benefits received will be those available at the time of application and stage of progress of the event. 7. The remaining amount is to be paid in full by 17 July Unless otherwise arranged, payments not made by due dates will result in withdrawal of your sponsorship. 9. Applications received after 1 June 2016 will receive a tax invoice for the full amount. 10. If applicable, all finished artwork for the conference programme advertisements must be supplied prior to 30 June The conference website will be regularly updated with confirmed sponsor s details. 12. Cancellation will be made on the following basis: FOR PACKAGES Prior to 1 June 2016 a full refund of the deposit less an administration fee of $100 + GST. After 1 June 2016 no refund of the deposit, unless package can be reassigned. FOR ADVERTISEMENTS All advertisements must be cancelled by 30 June A full refund less an administration fee of $50 + GST will be provided. No refunds will be given after this date.
