Create a new layer on top of the button and select the first frame. 9. 8 AIA Seattle Website Advertising This Week In Design enewsletter Advertisement Guidelines There's a fine line between a professional-looking ad and an ineffective ad. Online ads cannot be treated like a magazine ad, brochure, or billboard. Since ads are limited in physical size, the advertiser only has a few seconds to impact the viewer on the web page and get them to click on the ad. AIA Seattle's members are a very design-savvy audience who are highly influenced by good design and aesthetics. In order to make your ad stand out and receive a high click-thru rate, please consider the following design suggestions: Limit your word count to 15 characters: Well-written ad copy is important. Keep it short and simple. Too much information and illegible fonts will often have a negative impact and lead to a low click-thru rate on the ad. A logo and random text thrown together will not get results, but well written content and a strategically-designed banner can increase click-thru rate dramatically. Tagline or a hook phrase: To interest and entice the potential clients, a well-conceived tagline or catchy phrase is key. To hook the viewer or potential client and increase the click-thru rate, it's important to have a brief Call to Action phrase. Design-Savvy: Complementary colors, font selection, and typography treatment are essential. For inspiration, refer to design magazines or websites. Please keep in mind AIA Seattle's brand colors on our website and in our weekly enews. The ad should complement AIA Seattle's red (R: 238; G: 45 B: 52). Pictures, Graphics and Color: A picture tells a thousand words. Properly selected pictures that relate to the ad copy (product /services) should be integrated. Design-savvy graphics, composition and color are highly recommended. The ad should complement AIA Seattle's red (R: 238; G: 45 B: 52). Please keep these design principles in mind to make your ad standout. AIA Seattle must approve all ad copy and design prior to posting of ad.
