2 INFRASTRUCTURE: TIME FOR ACTION The Australia Papua New Guinea Business Council and the Business Council of Papua New Guinea are pleased to launch the 29 th Australia Papua New Guinea Business Forum to be held at the Gateway Hotel, Port Moresby from 14 to 16 April We look forward to having the Forum in Port Moresby for the first time. Previous Forums in Papua New Guinea have been in Madang. The Forum theme is Infrastructure: Time for Action. The theme aims to capture the important message that Papua New Guinea has unprecedented opportunity to turn the economic value of today s resources boom into tomorrow s future prosperity for all its people. The Forum is well established as the major annual bilateral business meeting between Australia and Papua New Guinea, and builds on the work both Councils have done over more than three decades in growing the bilateral business relationship. The program for the Forum includes an overview of the political and economic climate, especially issues which effect business and investment, and will include specific sessions by expert presenters on doing business in PNG, including topics such as PNG Economy, Roads, Maritime Transport, Energy and Power Supply and Resource updates. There will be an opportunity for delegates to engage in lively interaction with presenters in most sessions. Participants have an unparalleled opportunity to learn about business opportunities in Papua New Guinea, and to network with senior Australia and Papua New Guinea based policy makers and senior businesspeople. Key government ministers from Australia and Papua New Guinea, and a range of other expert speakers, have been invited to address the Forum to inform business representatives of policy issues in their portfolio relevant to business. In 2013, the Forum will again feature a Trade Expo for Australian and Papua New Guinean companies wishing to use the opportunity to market their goods and services to clients and purchasers in each country, and to broaden their business relationships. Outcomes expected from the meeting include better insights into business and investment opportunities available through further developing the bilateral business and investment relationship, including through contacts made with other business people. Business groups in each country will present to government issues of policy change and administrative action needed to facilitate bilateral business and investment growth. The provisional program and booking forms for delegates, trade expo booths, and advertising in the delegate s handbook form part of this brochure. 4 TRADE BOOTH BOOKING FORM SPONSORED BY THE INVESTMENT PROMOTION AUTHORITY (IPA) and AUSTRALIAN TRADE COMMISSION (AUSTRADE) The Australia Papua New Guinea Trade Expo will be held in conjunction with the 29 th Australia Papua New Guinea Business Forum at the Gateway Hotel, Port Moresby on 15 to 16 April 2013 The Expo is again supported by IPA (PNG) and Austrade. Participants at the Forum will include senior corporate and government decision makers, and holders of the trade booths will have a unique opportunity to present their goods and services to people at this level. This opportunity is open to companies attending or not attending the Forum. Bookings can be made to hire one or more of the display booths in the Trade Expo area which will be located next to the Plenary room. Delegates will break for morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea each day in the Trade Expo area. At all other times, non-delegates (i.e. members of the public) will be able to wonder through the Trade Expo and view exhibitors wares. All 23 booths are 3m x 2.5m and comprise back and side walls 2.4m in height, Fascia sign (1800mm x 300mm artwork to fit to size, holders to supply artwork), installation of electrical points, 2 x lights per booth, 1 table (1800mm x 550mm) and a chair/s. Additional optional items available to hire are 42 flat television screen, DVD Player, Stand-up fan, table cloth & Table skirt, white board/cork board and pot plants. These can be arranged directly with the booth supplier, Jelena Tamate of Next of Kin ( / ), to suit your individual requirements.
