8 Bahrain International Airshow 2016 The Bahrain International International Airshow (BIAS) is a commercially-focused airshow that seeks to give your aerospace Key Statistics business a personalised experience, offering access to highlevel delegations within the aerospace community all within a dedicated arena. Established in 2010, the event is renowned for its world-class facilities providing an opportunity to meet with industry peers and customers and to participate in the civil and military delegations programme. 9 Why the Middle East? The Middle East is the only region in the world where the wide-body fleet is larger than the single-aisle fleet reflecting the Middle East s growth as a major aviation hub. The share of the passenger aircraft in the world operated by Middle Eastern airlines has doubled over the last ten years. By 2034, it is forecast around 2,148 aircraft will be required in the region worth over $600bn. Over the next 20 years, passenger traffic in the Middle East is set to grow by 6.2%. Middle Eastern airports were some of the fastest growing in 2013 with a 7.7% growth in passengers from 2012 (world average 4%). Defence spending by nations in the Middle East is expected to total $920bn between 2014 and Four of the five fastest-growing defence markets in the world are in the Middle East. The Middle East market for UAVs is projected around $260m annually and $3.8bn over the next decade with the Middle East accounting for 8% of the global UAV market. Why Bahrain? Along with competitive costs, easy access to the rest of the Middle East, and a well-established business infrastructure, Bahrain has extensive experience in understanding the needs of foreign businesses and responding to them. 10 Meet. Connect. Network As BIAS has grown, the level and number of delegations and VIPS attending the show has significantly evolved. The 2014 show saw the strongest attendance yet for both its civil and military delegations programme with over 80 programmed visits from 18 countries. The delegations programme saw attendance from national governments, ministries concerned with defence and security, defence personnel, armed services and security agencies and key decision makers from the industry representing GCC states, India, Turkey, USA, UK, and France to name just a few. Working with participants, BIAS organisers will invite a targeted list of delegate members as guests of the show. A structured programme, planned around the requests and requirements of the delegation members and participants is arranged and acts as a daily framework for the delivery of meetings and networking opportunities. 8

14 Exhibition Feature Hall The 2014 event saw the introduction of a themed exhibition feature hall and for 2016 the new theme will focus on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and airport infrastructure development. The exhibition feature hall will occupy over 4,500 sq m of space in its new location within the main hangar on the Sakhir Airbase. 12 UAVs have seen unprecedented growth within the industry and remain an excellent topic with leading edge technology with key growth within the industry. BIAS 2016 will showcase exhibiting companies and create a platform for industry to look at opportunities within this sector. The expanded hall will feature dedicated conference rooms, an indoor flying net for participating companies to demonstrate their latest unmanned vehicles and an opportunity to showcase larger aircraft externally to the exhibition hall. Unique to BIAS there is also the opportunity to fly unmanned vehicles from the Airbase itself and demonstrate your products live to the watching trade and VIP audience. 16 Outdoor Exhibition Outdoor exhibition space may be purchased and used to showcase special projects, large items or other aviation equipment. Bespoke exhibition packages can be discussed on an individual basis with members of the BIAS sales team and built to required specifications. Aircraft Extensive aircraft displays, both on the ground and in the air, bring a dynamic element to the Bahrain International Airshow. The scope of the Sakhir airfield makes it is possible to have an aircraft on the static park as well as to participate in the daily flying display. The apron is able to accommodate the very largest of aircraft and customer demonstration flights can also be arranged to maximise and support any sales negotiations. This flexibility enables us to run a varied and entertaining flying display that can host the exciting flying world of unmanned air systems, military jets, aerobatic display teams and large commercial airliners. 14
