Build original prototypes, create motor-powered vehicles and take apart electronics to construct a pinball machine. Program) Ages 12 to 15 years old (must have passed 5 th grade) CONNECT/ArtWorks! is a collaboration between Dickinson College and the Carlisle Arts Learning Center. The camp gives teens an opportunity to engage in and grow through Description creative summer programming. Emphasis is placed on the visual arts and their ability to positively change and enrich lives. Topics include: architecture, sculpture, photography, creative writing, natural art and curating an exhibit. Students will be exposed to a college setting and will eat lunch in Dickinson s Dining Hall. Dates 4 weeks- July 1 though July 25 (off July 4 th ) Hours 9am to 3 pm Location 38 West Pomfret Street in Carlisle (CALC), and many Dickinson locations (Trout Gallery) Option One: $150 per week / $600 total for the program Option Two: Need-based scholarships are available and will remain confidential. 12 full scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Fill out scholarship application that determines what guardians can afford. Full scholarship students are Cost responsible for a $50 Material Fee that can be paid at any time during the 4 weeks. Program LEAF Project (Leadership Education And Farming) Ages/Grades 14-18 years old Description LEAF is a farm-based youth employment program in which youth work alongside farmers and chefs in South Central PA. Youth develop essential employment and personal skills while doing the meaningful work of raising food. Produce is sold to area restaurants, donated into hunger relief, and used in a weekly cooking class with expert chefs. Youth participate in a variety of workshops on food systems, social justice and leadership.
