3 General Registration Information Iolani students and siblings may register starting on August 10, 2015 at noon HST. Non- Iolani students may register starting August 17, 2015 at noon HST. You may register your child for After School classes online with a valid credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Tuition payment in full must accompany the registration. Enrollment is not guaranteed until payment has been made in full. Courses may be canceled due to insufficient enrollment or closed if full. If courses are canceled, parents will be notified via and phone calls. You may sign up for a semester or the entire year. No course changes or new registrations will take place after two meetings of the course (excluding After School Care). There are no rebates or proration for course time missed. Tuition may not be refunded once space has been reserved for a student (see withdrawal policy below). Classes will not be scheduled during school holidays, homecoming, vacations, Iolani Fair, and early dismissal days (See last page). WITHDRAWALS AND REFUND POLICY Refund for withdrawal is based on the date when the Special Programs Office receives notification from parents/guardians for the child s withdrawal. Once the registration has been processed, the maximum amount of refund will be 75% of each course. The following schedule determines the amount of the refund:» 75% refund until exactly seven days before the first day of the course» 50% refund thereafter» No refunds will be made after the first meeting of the class There are no rebates or proration for course time missed. No course changes or new registrations will take place after two meetings of the course (excluding After School Care). COURSE CHANGES Once the registration is processed, there will be a $10 fee for each course change. ABSENCES It is important that we know the whereabouts of the students enrolled in the program. Attendance will be taken daily. If your child will miss after school classes, please call the Special Programs Office at or spo@iolani.org. ESCORT FOR GRADES K 1 Students in grades K and 1 will be escorted from the first grade lānai to their Special Programs classes and back to After School Care or to the Lower School Autoline provided they are not taking back to back classes. After School escorting is only available to and from Special Programs classes. Students taking private music lessons: Upon music lesson confirmation, please notify the Special Programs Office if you would like an escort. On occasion, due to the escort s schedule, this service cannot be provided. If our office cannot provide an escort, we will contact you. 12 Technology and Design 'Iolani School After School Care Catalog - By Category Category: Technology & Design FabLab-Circuits (3-6) - Tue. Students will learn about the engineering design process/design thinking, the basics of electricity and electrical circuits. They will have different projects that will introduce them to the use of soft circuits, copper tape, wire, LED diodes, batteries, and soldering. Once these projects are complete, students will have a chance to design projects of their own using skills and knowledge they have gained in the this class. Only in animation can your child explore the universe of their imagination as they draw fantastic creatures and dream of life on other planets. Using ipads and animation apps your child will help create 'Iolani Animation's first outer space cartoon. Using traditional and digital drawing as well as digital puppetry children will create their own original class film in this fall. Next spring students will continue their out-of-this world adventure as they create their own stop-motion creature puppets and work with stereo anaglyph apps to see their animation take form in new dimensions!
