2 From the Director s Desk Virginia Riccardi Welcome to Summer Adventures at The Knox School! The staff and I have been busy and excited as we prepare for our 12th summer of delivering an enjoyable, quality, camp program to kids in kindergarten through tenth grade. Our 40-acre waterfront location allows us to offer Kayaking and Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, along with daily trips to the beach, all of which make Knox unique! Run by parents and educators, Knox Summer Adventures recognizes that flexibility and affordability are key. You are free to choose the days and weeks you would like your child to attend, and our competitive rates help make Knox the best choice for your budget. On a rotating basis, campers will participate in water activities such as Kayaking and Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, American Red Cross Swim Instruction, Field Sports, Tennis, Gaga Ball, Volleyball, Basketball, LEGO Robotics, Marine Science, Fine and Performing Arts, Chess and Games and so much more! Daily hot and cold lunch, snack and ice-pops are included and busing and extended care are available for additional fees. Check our website for information about our daily event calendar, specialty sports camps and renowned Equestrian camp. It is our hope that this brochure will give you a glimpse into the wonders of summer camp, and perhaps bring back some of your own camp memories! Give your child the opportunity to cultivate new friendships, build character, explore new interests and make wonderful, summertime memories that will last for years to come. Remember your summer adventure begins at Knox! Facilities Picturesque, serene, 40+ acre campus, beautiful horseback riding facility, on-campus waterfront access, expansive sports fields, tennis courts, gym with stage, separate Tadpole facility, health center, 20 x 50 in-ground pool, and air-conditioned classrooms. Food Service Nutritious lunch, snack, beverages and an ice pop at the end of the day are included in tuition. WE ARE A NUT FREE CAMPUS! Cakes are available, including presentation and serving, for summer birthdays (72 hours notice and $35 payment up front is required ). Extended Day 7:00 to 9:00 AM ($13 per day, per camper) ; 3:45 to 6:00 PM ($18 per day, per camper) ; $26 for both in the same day. All campers not picked up by 3:45 PM must join extended care and will be charged accordingly. Aquatics All campers are evaluated and receive an American Red Cross swim lesson daily and free swim time weather permitting, in our in-ground pool. Specialty camps enjoy a recreational swim as well. Campers also visit the beach, where they swim, play and participate in our SAND CASTLE CONTEST! Change Fee The following procedure has been established for any change made to the original registration contract: 1. After 4/30/14, each and every change to the original contract will be subject to a $25 handling fee. 2. All changes and additions to the original registration must be submitted in writing in order to be considered and honored.
