EAGLE ATHLETICS VARSITY COACHES SPORTS CAMPS June & July Sessions Boys and Girls Grades 1-8 SUMMER EXTRAVAGANZA SESSIONS Academic & Sports Courses 3- One Week Sessions in June for Students Entering Grades K-8 SE SESSIONS 5-days, 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Week 1 June 2-6 Week 2 June 9-13 Week 3 June SE COSTS SE Extravaganza programs $275 per week includes all materials and field trips SE Half-Day Program $140 per week SE STAY AND PLAY FEES: Morning drop off from 7:00-9:00 a.m. OR after-program care from 3:30-6:00 p.m. is $33 per week. Both morning and afternoon care is $65 per week. Pre-paid and by reservation only! SE FRIDAY EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIPS for Grades K-4: As a part of the Summer Extravaganza curriculum, Friday Educational Field Trips are planned and may include The Houston Zoo, Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, George Ranch Historical Park, Houston Museum of Natural Sciences, and/or The Museum of Fine Arts Houston. 2 ACADEMIC COURSES STUDENTS ENTERING GRADES K-8 SE Learning Camp Entering Grades K-1 MORNING Half Day Camp 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Summer fun! Students who have completed PK-1 will enjoy a half-day of arts and academics! Children begin each morning with circle time to share ideas, themes, and special events planned for the day. The morning curriculum is developmentally appropriate, emphasizes creativity and imagination, and includes a rotation of hands-on activities in language arts, math, visual arts, music, and drama. Snacks are provided. (Afternoon Olympic Sports also offered for a full-day camp experience.) SE Knockout your Summer Reading in a Flash Grades 3-8 Read and take notes with a teacher to develop the skills necessary to complete your summer reading assignments. Discuss and review your summer reading books, and finish all your summer reading assignments with teacher assistance. SE Spanish Grades 2-3, 4-5 Come join us for fabulous, fun and exciting Spanish classes. From Beginners to Middle and Advanced, students will be able to discover how brilliant and talented they are with their ability to learn a new language with fun and exciting projects.. SE Lego Robotics and Engineering Half Day Course! Grades 2-8 Enhance math and science skills by building with Lego Robotics Kits. Racing robotic motorized machines is the ultimate experience! SE Mad Scientist and Gardening Fun Grades 2-8 Learn about different types of soil and plants, and how to plant and maintain your own vegetable or fruit garden at home AND have fun with science with hands-on experiments and field learning experiences. From collecting butterflies to digging for dinosaur bones, come explore with us in the lab and outdoors. There s a lot to learn! SE Math Games and Critical Thinking Skills Grades 2-8 Trouble with math concepts? This class is for you! Review basic math concepts, learn problem solving techniques, and use real life projects to develop higher level thinking through games and activities. OLYMPIC TEAM SPORTS! STUDENTS ENTERING GRADES K-8 SE Classes will be divided as age appropriate. FBCA Olympic Team offers students the opportunity to experience a wide variety of sports and new activities every day. This course may include activities such as: SE Volleyball - Learn the basic skills of setting, passing, and spiking the ball. Play games to practice our learned skills on the court. SE Basketball Basics - Boys and girls will develop skills and learn the fundamentals of basketball: shooting, guarding, dribbling, passing, defense, and team building. SE Advanced Basketball - Previous basketball experience required. Participate in passing and shooting drills, learn to play different positions and find out which is best for you, and practice a variety of skills on the court in scrimmages and games. SE Soccer - Learn the basic skills of soccer: how to kick, pass, and move around with the ball. More experienced players will develop more advanced movements and footwork. SE Tennis - Bring your racket and practice tennis drills to improve your game! OLYMPIC TEAM SPORTS classes are divided by grade level: K-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8.

3 ARTS COURSES STUDENTS ENTERING GRADES 2-8 SE Sculpey Clay Grades 2-4, 4-8 Come make your favorite sculpey clay creations! SE Drawing with Oil Pastels Grades 2-5 Oil pastels will be used to create a colorful work of art fit for display in any student s home. SE Watercolor Grades 2-8 Students will paint with watercolor, exploring various techniques. SE Friendship Bracelet Fun Grades 2-5 Make a variety of different and fun looking bracelets by using thread, year, jewels, and beads to personalize each bracelet. Each class will key in on a different types of design, allowing students to know a variety of styles. SE Crochet and Plastic Canvas Sewing Grades 2-5 Don t know how to crochet, but always wanted to learn? We will learn to crochet a simple stich, then move on to make bigger projects. At least a week will be dedicated to plastic canvas sewing where students will learn to sew with yarn by making small ornaments and then move on to cool coasters. SE STOMP (Weeks 1 & 2 Only) Grades 2-3, 4-5 If you like drums, come experience STOMP! We will be using everyday items such as buckets, trash cans, and kitchen items, as well as movement, to create unique rhythms. Come ready to jam! SE Dance with Me & Cheerleading Grades 2-5 Cheer, Jazz and ballet are some of the things you will learn in this class. Come join us and have fun and learn new moves. 5 REQUIRED LIABILITY/CONSENT FORM LIABILITY RELEASE AND MEDICAL CONSENT FORM FOR ALL SUMMER 2014 CAMP/COURSE/CLASS PARTICIPANTS NAME OF STUDENT PARTICIPANT Grade Level for LIABILITY RELEASE I/We the parent(s)/guardian(s) of do attest that our child is in good physical health. I/We hereby give my/our consent to allow my/our child to participate in the 2014 Summer Extravaganza Camps and Athletic Camps, I/We assume all of the risks, hazards, and financial obligations incidental to the activity of the camp. I/We hereby release, absolve, indemnify, and hold harmless Fort Bend Christian Academy and the coaches, teachers, administrators, board members, volunteers, and participants and any other person or entity duly acting on behalf of Fort Bend Christian Academy from any claims arising out of any injuries, of any nature, to my/our child while participating in FBC activities. MEDICAL CONSENT FORM Permission is hereby granted to the attending physician to proceed with any medical or minor surgical treatment, X-ray examinations and immunizations for the above named student if I, as a parent/guardian, am not present. In the event of serious illness, the need for major surgery, or significant accidental injury, I understand that an attempt will be made by the attending physician to contact me in the most expeditious way possible. If said physician is not able to communicate with me, the treatment necessary in the best interest of the above named student may be given. In the event that an emergency arises during the session, every effort will be made to contact the parents/guardians as soon as possible. Permission is also granted to Fort Bend Christian Academy to provide the needed emergency treatment to the student prior to his admission to the medical facilities.
