There are tw different types f licenses available fr purchase. Mre infrmatin and details n what applicatins that are included, are in the psted dcuments. 2 Adbe Creative Clud HOW DO I OBTAIN AN ADOBE CREATIVE CLOUD LICENSE? A UCSB agreement has been established t enable UCSB departments t purchase Adbe Creative Clud prducts. As with all Adbe prducts, purchase is via UCSB s designated reseller, SHI (Sftware Huse Internatinal) via the UCSB Gateway Prcurement. T ensure that use f Adbe Creative Clud prducts fr UCSB business is cvered under the UCSB agreement, and is in cmpliance with UC plicy and the law, please fllw the instructins belw. Understand Apprpriate Use Review the fllwing dcuments t understand the applicable terms, cnditins, and allwable data use fr Adbe Creative Clud: UCSB Adbe Creative Clud Agreement, see specifically sectin 18.1 and 19.1 regarding sensitive data and security. SB 1386 Guideline 2. Understand Device-Based and Named-User Licenses Adbe s Creative Clud ffering includes a range f prducts available as either Device-Based r Named-User licenses. Therefre, yu must understand the differences between the tw license types befre rdering. a. Device-Based Licenses: Standard, traditinal sftware licenses. One cmputer per license. Offers a chice f a cmplete set f Creative Clud applicatins (Adbe Creative Clud Cmplete) r single applicatin. Licenses are deplyed via Creative Clud Packager tl: ( Online tls & services are NOT included. Available fr dwnlad via the department's Admin Cnsle after rder is prcessed and licenses are psted t yur administrative cnsle. Device-Based Licenses are psted within hurs after submitting PO t SHI. b. Named-User Licenses: Standard, traditinal sftware licenses, PLUS integrated clud-based strage functinality similar t that ffered by Bx, Drive, OneDrive r Drpbx. Use f the clud-based strage functinality is limited t apprpriate use. Privacy laws apply and sensitive data shuld nt be upladed t the clud strage. Tw cmputers, ne fr wrk and ne fr hme use, per license. Offers a chice f a cmplete set f Creative Clud applicatins (Adbe Creative Clud Cmplete) r single applicatin. Includes clud-based strage. NOTE: Use f the Creative Clud clud-based strage functinality at yur wn risk. Adbe is nt required r able t return destryed r crrupted files that were cpied nly n their Creative Clud. Available immediately fr deplyment via Add a Seat functin in the department's Adbe Admin Cnsle. An rder t SHI fr any Named-User Licenses deplyed prir t purchasing the licenses must be received within 30 days f deplying the Named User License.

3 3. Understand the Adbe Creative Clud License Deplyment Methds a. Admin Cnsle The Admin Cnsle is the centralized management tl that allws yu t manage and deply yur institutin s licenses. Lg-in with yur Adbe ID and passwrd. b. Device-Based licenses The Admin Cnsle fr Device-Based licenses allws the institutin t dwnlad Creative Clud Packager, the tl used t package and deply applicatins t institutinally wned cmputers. This is currently the nly included functin f the Admin Cnsle fr Device-Based licenses, but institutins can still view all features available t Named-User licenses. c. Deply with Creative Clud Packager Creative Clud Packager is the nly way t deply Creative Clud applicatins t devices. Creative Clud Packager makes it easy t create deplyment packages that cntain specific Creative Clud applicatin and relevant updates. It allws the IT admin t chse autmatic r manual updates, package, and deply t the institutin s desired cmputers. Each Device-Based license is allwed ne activatin. 4. Decide which Adbe Creative Clud prduct(s) yu wish t purchase (see table belw and attached Adbe listing). Determine whether yu wish t purchase licenses as Device-Based r Named-User. NOTE: The Creative Clud Cmplete bundle includes all the ther prducts. The cst t purchase any tw r mre f the ther prducts is higher than the cst t purchase the Creative Clud Cmplete. NOTE: Adbe Acrbat is available as part f the Creative Clud prducts, but is als available t be purchased separately, as a perpetual license and nt part f the clud packages. 4 5. Establish Adbe VIP Enrllment Number Adbe ffers its Creative Clud prducts under the terms f their new VIP Agreement. Each department will need t establish their wn unique VIP Enrllment number, with their wn anniversary dates and will use their Adbe Admin Cnsle t deply Creative Clud licenses. a. T receive an Adbe VIP Enrllment number, the department cntacts SHI (ucsystems@shi.cm r ) and requests access t purchase under the Adbe VIP Prgram. Yu must include the infrmatin belw in rder t have an invitatin sent t yu. 1. Custmer Organizatin name: 2. Custmer Cntact Name: 3. Custmer Cntact 4. Custmer Cntact Phne: 5. Custmer address: 6. Custmer Market segment: Higher Educatin b. SHI sends the department an Invitatin t jin prgram with a link t the Adbe Creative Clud prtal. c. T jin the prgram, the department representative clicks n the link and accepts the terms and cnditins. i. NOTE: These click thrugh terms and cnditins are superseded by the terms f the UCSB Adbe Creative Clud master agreement. d. Upn acceptance, the department will be brught t its wn Adbe VIP Admin Cnsle. The Manage yur Team space f the Admin Cnsle will shw the department s unique VIP agreement number and the anniversary date. e. Recrd yur department's unique Adbe VIP Enrllment Number. The VIP Enrllment Number must be referenced n all f yur Creative Clud purchase requests t ensure that licenses are 'credited' t the crrect Admin Cnsle and that licenses are c-termed. The department will use the Admin Cnsle t add/deply Creative Clud seats. f. It is recmmended that each department have nly ne VIP Enrllment Number. g. Purchase Adbe Creative Clud Licenses frm SHI Departments must have a VIP Enrllment Number (see Sectin 5) befre requesting a qute frm SHI. a. Cntact SHI (ucsystems@shi.cm r ) t request a price qute. Yur request must include: 1. Yur VIP Enrllment Number 2. Instruct SHI t include yur VIP Enrllment Number n the qute 3. Name and quantity f the Creative Clud prducts yu wish t purchase

5 4. Fr each prduct, indicate whether yu wish t purchase Device-Based r Named-User licenses. b. SHI will prvide a price qute. Licenses rdered n the same VIP Enrllment will autmatically be c-termed with the current annual term f the VIP Agreement. Pricing will be prrated n a mnthly basis t reflect c-term. c. The department uses the price qute infrmatin t issue a PO t SHI fllwing standard UCSB rdering prcedures in Gateway. d. SHI will then prcess the rder. e. Device-Based licenses will be delivered t yur department s Admin Cnsle hurs after submitting PO t SHI. Named-User licenses are available fr immediate deplyment via Admin Cnsle Add a Seat functin. f. If yu have additinal questins regarding this prcess, please cntact sftware@lsit.ucsb.edu. 7. Ordering Additinal Adbe Creative Clud Licenses Additinal Creative Clud licenses may be rdered at any time. Please fllw the steps in sectin 6. Departments with existing VIP Enrllments dn t need t red the steps in sectin 5. a. Departments with existing VIP Enrllments may purchase additinal licenses at any time thrughut the VIP Agreement term by placing an rder with SHI. b. Fr Named-User Licenses nly: If an rder has nt been received by SHI within 30 days after Named-User licenses have been deplyed, n ther prducts can be added until an rder has been placed. If an rder is nt received by SHI within 60 days after Named-User licenses have been deplyed, then Adbe will remve access t the unpaid licenses. 8. Renewal f Adbe Creative Clud Licenses Licenses will renew n the same annual cycle. SHI will cntact the Department prir t the annual renewal date. The Department must submit a PO t cntinue Adbe Creative Clud subscriptins. Failure t cmplete the steps t renew befre the anniversary date may result in the lss f all data fr Named-User Licenses. Once data is deleted frm an Enrllment it will nt be pssible t retrieve it. 6 Adbe Creative Clud UCSB Allwable Data Use UCSB faculty and staff use f the clud cmputing services (Named User licenses) available via the UCSB wide Adbe Creative Clud agreement must cmply with applicable University plicies, ntably plicies relating t the prtectin f University data and the UC Electrnic Cmmunicatins Plicy. This includes the data use requirements in the table belw, which are based n the UCSB Data Classificatin Standard and University negtiated agreements established t help safeguard infrmatin abut individuals and ther cnfidential infrmatin fr which the campus is a steward. Always emply due care when prcessing, transmitting, r string sensitive infrmatin. Vilatin f these data use plicies may result in disciplinary actin up t and including terminatin. Table 1.
