1 Azure Digital Partner f Recrd FAQ June 2015 On August 1, 2015, Micrsft launched Digital Partner f Recrd (Digital POR) fr Azure. The Azure Digital POR replaces the frmer PSX Partner f Recrd prcess. This dcument prvides answers t frequently asked questins regarding Azure Digital POR. Questin 1 What is Azure Digital POR and why are we releasing this? Answer Azure Digital POR is the autmated, nline capability t attach a partner t a custmer s Online Services subscriptin. Azure Digital POR benefits the custmer, the partner, and Micrsft. Custmer: Optimizing usage and purchasing mdels: The custmer will benefit frm the partner s ability t help mnitr their mnthly Azure cnsumptin and billing and ability t identify areas f pprtunity fr custmers t ptimize their usage scenaris and purchasing mdels. Partner: Benefits frm Micrsft: Partner can access benefits frm Micrsft including incentives and credit tward clud cmpetency attainment. Visibility int custmer cnsumptin: Thrugh the MPN partner dashbard partners can access reprts n hw their custmers are cnsuming Azure. Extend number f partners: eligible fr Azure incentive beynd Azure Circle. Micrsft: Scalability: Nt using a manual, partner driven prcess increases ur ability t scale the partner ecsystem. Faster data cnnectins: Instant assciatin f Partner A with Custmer B. Custmer benefits: better service frm the partner 2 What actins will the partners need t take? 3 Hw can a partner identify the persn within their custmer s rganizatin that can add them as a Digital POR? Beginning August 1, 2015, Partners can attach as Digital POR t existing subscriptins. Partners shuld wrk with their current custmers t attach them as their POR fr each subscriptin they actively manage. The glbal administratr is the nly rle that can add a partner as a Digital POR. This is usually the individual in the custmer rganizatin wh is respnsible fr setting up r managing the clud service.

2 4 Hw will cmpetency change? MPN will use the Digital POR data t calculate the cnsumptin gals requirements needed fr Silver r Gld cmpetencies. 5 What will the Online dashbard lk like? 6 Hw will we recgnize and pay ut incentives? 7 What are the imprtant milestnes I need t knw? 8 Will the partner be tld if they are remved as Partner f Recrd? 9 Will partners be asked fr POE if they are attached as Digital POR? 10 If a new Digital POR is attached, when des that partner start earning incentives? 11 Will the sent t partners when they are added/remved frm a subscriptin identify the specific subscriptin that has changed? 12 Shuld partners try t attach as Digital POR nw r wait until 8/1? 13 What custmer rles can change Digital POR? 14 Will Partners with delegated admin access be able t update the Digital POR field? The existing dashbard will be updated t incrprate Azure Cnsumptin and Office 365 Active usage. Partners will have visibility n their custmer s usage infrmatin by wrklad. The Partner dashbard will be available n July 9, Micrsft will be using the Digital POR t identify which partner earns the Azure Incentives. As a Digital Partner f Recrd becmes assigned t a custmer s subscriptin, the Azure incentives will be rewarded t the eligible Partner f Recrd, fr that subscriptin. On August 1, 2015, FY16 Azure Incentives will launch: Partners shuld start asking their custmers t attach them as their Digital POR at that time. Yes, we will ntify the partner that a new Digital POR has been identified fr the subscriptin. POE will be requested randmly unless the Digital POR is the same as the PSX POR fr that subscriptin. The partner will earn frm Digital POR attach mnth r Clud Platfrm cmpetency attainment mnth, whichever is later but nt earlier than August The Digital POR at the last day f each mnth will earn the incentive fr that mnth. Yes. There will be subscriptin infrmatin included in the . We recmmend that partners wait until after August 1 t start asking their custmers t attach them as their POR. Only the Accunt admin rle can add/change the POR fr a subscriptin. N.

3 15 Can Partners run a reprt themselves t see which custmers they are POR fr? 16 What happens when there is already a Digital POR attached t the custmer subscriptin befre August 1? And when the PSX POR is different? 17 What is the dispute reslutin prcess fr Partners that feel they shuld have been attached t a subscriptin? 18 T cntinue t earn the incentive, is it necessary that current PSX POR under FY15 incentive will have t ask the custmer t assign them as Digital POR? 19 What is the escalatin prcess fr Partners wh believe their Digital POR infrmatin is incrrect? 20 If a custmer adds ne Partner as Digital POR, then later they add anther Partner and bth receive an ntificatin, will they als bth receive a request fr POE? Hw will the Partner knw whether they are the Digital POR with the custmer? 21 If a Partner wh has been added as POR is having truble with the prcess, which supprt team is available t help the field cntact receiving the questin? The Partner will be able t lg in t the Online Service Dashbard published thrugh MPN prtal and see the list f custmers that have attached them as a Digital POR. The infrmatin presented n the dashbard is available in summarized view r detailed view, and the Partner will be able t exprt the data t Excel. The Digital POR will start earning frm August 2015 r their Clud Platfrm cmpetency attainment mnth, whichever is later. If there was a different partner earning via PSX, the PSX partner will be ntified that anther partner has been assigned as Digital POR and that the PSX partner will n lnger earn unless they get assigned as Digital POR. We will ntify the partner via when they have been added r remved as a POR. We recmmend that the partner cntact the custmer t validate and cntest the change, if needed. Micrsft will be taking a snapsht f PSX incentive pprtunities at the end f July 2015 and will use that t hnr the remainder f the 24 mnth payut. Hwever, we still encurage the partner t get assigned as Digital POR as the cnsumptin will cunt twards Clud Platfrm cmpetency attainment and partner will be able t earn beynd the 24 mnths if the 24 mnth duratin expires during FY16 Azure Incentive prgram perid. Only the partner that was added as Digital POR may receive a request fr POE. Starting August 1, partners are identified via when they are added r remved as Digital POR n a given Azure subscriptin. Partners can get help frm the Azure Supprt team wh can be accessed frm the supprt link at the tp f the Azure Prtal page.

4 22 Is there any incentive fr the custmer t update/maintain DPOR? 23 Can custmers lk up Partner ID in the system? 24 If a custmer has many Partners (we smetimes see 50+) d they have t enter the MPN ID manually fr every single ID? 25 If partner has an Azure EA as MSP, d they still fllw the same prcess t add Digital POR fr subscriptins under an external department? 26 Will there be a limit n hw many times custmers can change their Partner f Recrd per year? 27 When a subscriptin ends, what happens t the Partner f Recrd? 28 Are subscriptins bught in EA, Open and Direct eligible? 29 There are a high number f partners wh are nt currently meeting the revenue perfrmance metric fr the cmpetency - if they vigilantly get POR dne after August 1, will it recgnize any histrical perfrmance recrd? 30 D we cunt a partners Open Azure cnsumptin twards MPN cmpetency? 31 What custmer data will a partner be able t see as a Digital POR? The custmer will benefit frm the partner s ability t help mnitr their mnthly Azure cnsumptin and billing and ability t identify areas f pprtunity fr custmers t ptimize their usage scenaris and purchasing mdels. Unfrtunately there is n MPN ID lkup capability. Custmers will have t get their partners MPN ID frm their partner. Unfrtunately there is n bulk attach prcess. Custmers will have t attach the POR t each subscriptin individually. That prcess is nly used fr Micrsft internal cmpensatin. Partners that have an Azure EA can assign themselves as Digital POR in the Azure Accunt Center fr their Azure subscriptins. The cnsumptin will cunt twards cmpetency attainment but subscriptins wned by the Partner r Partner s affiliates will nt be eligible fr the FY16 Azure Incentive. Currently there is n limit. After the subscriptin ends, the partner will nt lnger be able t qualify fr incentives r cmpetencies. Yes, Digital POR feature will be available in EA, Campus and Schl, MS Led, Open and MOSA subscriptins. Nte that Open DPOR attachs d nt currently qualify fr Incentives, nly MPN Cmpetency. When a Partner applies fr the Clud Platfrm Cmpetency, we lk at the past 12 mnths f perfrmance n all Azure subscriptins where the Partner is POR t calculate perfrmance. S past perfrmance (up t 12 mnths) will be used t determine cmpetency eligibility. Yes, we cunt Azure cnsumptin n all licensing types (Open, EA, Direct, and CSP) fr calculating Azure perfrmance as part f qualifying fr the Clud Platfrm Cmpetency. We ll share the fllwing data n yur custmer in the dashbard nce yu becme the Partner f Recrd: Custmer ID and custmer name

5 Custmer s Azure Cnsumptin data, which may include inf such as: Subscriptin ID, Name and key subscriptin attributes such as subscriptin start date, end date etc. Cnsumptin dllar amunt n a mnthly basis Partner f Recrd assciatin and disassciatin dates. Custmers Seat utilizatin, which may include: Subscriptin ID, Name and key subscriptin attributes such as subscriptin start date, end date etc. Seat utilizatin details such as seats sld and seats deplyed Office 365 Active Use data: Attributes such as qualified entitlements and unique active users 32 My custmer is cncerned that adding me as DPOR will give them access t their rganizatins inf r persnal inf. What guidance can I prvide them? Attaching a partner as yur Digital Partner f Recrd (DPOR) fr any f Micrsft Clud prducts prvides an assciatin f yur clud subscriptin t the partner using the partner s Micrsft Partner Netwrk ID (MPNID). This allws yur partner t view certain statistical infrmatin abut yur rganizatin s usage f ur clud services, s they can better deliver services t yu t get the mst frm yur subscriptins. Designating a partner as DPOR des nt result in the partner having access t any persnal infrmatin f yur users nr t the data yu stre in the Micrsft Online services unless yu add the partner int an administrative rle.
