The International Mammalogical Congress is a premier scientific event, sponsored by the International Federation of Mammalogists and held once every four years. The Congress is the highest profile forum targeted at mammal experts from around the world. Delegates converge to share expertise in a wide range of themes, including marine and terrestrial mammal management, conservation, ecology, physiology, behaviour and policy. The 12th International Mammalogical Congress (IMC12) will be held in Perth, Western Australia in 2017, hosted by the Australian Mammal Society Inc. IMC12 will include national and international keynote presentations, research presentations, technical updates and workshop discussions. The main body of the Conference program will consist of approximately 400 technical research presentations selected on their merit. The plenary program will feature six eminent speakers with international appeal specifically invited by the organisers and the International Federation of Mammalogists (IFM). On behalf of the Organising Committee, we look forward to working with sponsors to welcome delegates from throughout the world attending our unique venue down under and to deliver a successful international scientific meeting. Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre Who will attend? We anticipate that mammalogists from around the world will come to Perth for IMC12, including a strong Australian contingent. Approximately 1200 delegates attended IMC10 in Mendoza, Argentina, in 2009, and 650 attended the 2013 IMC11 conference in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Business Case: Why Sponsor? The International Mammalogical Congress is the most significant international mammal conference. The last IMC to be held in Australia was in Sydney in The Congress provides an important forum for professional mammalogists wishing to remain updated on the latest marine and terrestrial mammal conservation topics, research concepts and techniques. IMC12 will bring together in Australia the diverse global community of professionals and students in the field of mammalian biology to showcase their work and facilitate collaboration through our international network of practitioners.
