Location: Keepmoat Stadium, Stadium Way, Doncaster, DN4 5JW Closing Date: 5PM - 14 th February 2014 nterviews: Between the hours of 09:30-16:30 on 25 th February Start Date: Successful applicant must be able to take up post by Monday 31 st March 2014 General Purpose of the post: The Community Manager is ultimately responsible and accountable for the management, delivery and development of all existing Community (Participation) projects along with continued development of new projects to support the whole Foundation in excelling across all themes. The post holder must ensure effective, efficient operations of projects within the Community department and all those whom operate within it. This will involve ensuring that activities are correctly targeted, are in line with the Foundation business plan, delivery is of high quality, all monitoring and evaluation and quality assurance requirements are met, whilst ensuring all community initiatives are delivered within budget. t is also necessary to work with other department heads to ensure strategic objectives are achieved across the team and sit within the wider Foundation and club needs. For the avoidance of doubt, a key success criterion for this post holder will be to successfully secure external funds for the Foundation contributing to the self sustainability of the department, post and those within it. Post Overview: The Community Manager (Participation) will initially be responsible for the delivery and development of the existing schools, holiday and other participation programmes including player visits, match day delivery, outreach/drop in clubs, as well as the Heritage Lottery Funded project, A Walk-in Museum The Community Manager (Participation) must ensure that all activities delivered are in line with the Primary School Curriculum and OFSTED guidelines, ensure all activities are correctly monitored with the appropriate risk assessments and health and safety procedures put in place The purpose of the post is to evaluate, refine and advance our current participation programme, as well as drawing down new projects to the Community Foundation. The post holder is expected to work with the existing team, as well as develop the future staffing structures in order to effectively, and efficiently deliver new projects. 3 Key Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and develop existing community programmes in line with the whole Foundation business plan and in collaboration with other Foundation & Club departments To work with the Chief Executive to set and monitor budgets closely to ensure the sound financial future of the Community Foundation Coordinate community department operations and ensure appropriate documentation such as budgets, cash flow forecasts, contracts, staff files, inductions and service level agreements are in place for all allocated projects and areas of development. Manage workloads, to work both independently and collaboratively, with a range of colleagues, working to tight deadlines Monitor activity within the community department ensuring that we are meeting and or exceeding our service level agreements. This will entail supervising & advising officers in delivery. Ensure that the Foundation is well-positioned to expand its community provision as new local and national policies and funding mechanisms are established Promote and develop the role of Community Officers and Coordinators and all of whom operate with the team Undertake any other relevant duties related to the further development, promotion and sustainability of the organisation as set by the Chief Executive Work closely with partnership organisations, including funding agencies, to maintain good relationships and collaborative working practices. Keep accurate records to enable full completion of all monitoring and evaluation requirements of funding agencies Tender applications through to overseeing the delivery of projects and initiatives. Prepare and present reports and regular briefings to chief executive and/ or senior officers of the club and wider partners as required. Attend, participate and network at meetings to further the work of the Foundation. Represent the Foundation on various strategic groups as the needs of the charity require Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to, refer to the staff hand book for further details on expectations of employees within the Foundation. Be responsible for the dissemination of resources to team members such as kit, equipment, data collection documentation and other resources. Active participation on continuing professional development and the appraisal process Promote the brand identity and increase fan base through community delivery and contacts Ensure there is effective and appropriate session delivery to clients Deliver presentations and training events. Establish and grow effective working partnerships with statutory, voluntary and community groups in order to develop a coordinated approach to the work that the Foundation can offer to or / support our community. Ensure that all monitoring, measuring and evaluation of community activities is undertaken and reported as necessary. Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job. Deal with enquiries and general day-to-day liaison with customers, Foundation staff & Doncaster Rovers staff Carry out general office duties including data recording, filing, photocopying, sending and receiving s. Promote the brand identity and increase DRFC fan base through community delivery Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job. Present a professional image when dealing with both internal and external contacts and partners, acting in a professional manner at all times Be aware and comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act. 5 Personal Skills/Characteristics Essential Desirable Method of Assessment (List Code Below) Experience Experience of working at a strategic level to design, manage and evaluate projects across a large area involving multiple partners Experience of managing and delivering community sports projects Experience of sourcing and applying for funding to develop and sustain programmes Experience of managing and monitoring programme budgets Team working experience i.e. working within a team and coordinating team members Experience of publicity/promotion of initiatives and events. Experience of sports coaching to young people of all abilities and experience Two years experience of delivering sports coaching in schools Good knowledge of the Primary School Curriculum and OFTSED guidelines Knowledge surrounding issues affecting young people and the Doncaster Community Proven leadership skills and experience in addressing and resolving performance and conduct issues To have experience and knowledge working with electronic database systems such as Substance or Views Experience of working for a charity Experience of working within the professional sport clubs Qualifications and training Degree level qualification AF/CR At least one nationally recognised level 2 vocational sportrelated qualification or equivilant.
