Cnslidated (CCBCC) Supply Chain & Operatins Management (SCOM) Cllege Internship Prgram is a unique pprtunity fr cllege students t garner handsn experience and take their classrm learning int the real wrld as they experience CCBCC s supply chain and peratins management prcesses respnsible fr ur cntinued success in prducing and delivering the wrld s best beverages n the planet t ur custmers. The prgram fllws the entire SCOM prcess starting with the purchasing f raw materials t the delivery f the finished gds where they are distributed t stres, restaurants, and vending machines. Fllwing that prcess, interns will explre each f the facets invlved in the SCOM prcess at CCBCC including Sales, Warehusing Lgistics, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing, Distributin, Transprtatin and Delivery. Interns will gain real-wrld applicatins f thery and SCOM cncepts by wrking in an entry-level capacity in ur facilities as well as spending time with supervisrs and managers in sme f these areas. In additin, interns will have the pprtunity t interface with senir level managers including time with executive leadership at CCBCC headquarters in Charltte, NC. Scpe f Internship The SCOM Internship at CCBCC is an 8-week paid internship that takes place between May and August. (Specific dates agreed upn between student and internship crdinatr.) Interns will wrk between hurs per week in each functinal area. In additin, interns will als be expected t spend 4-5 hrs each week reading sectins within the student manual prir t visiting each area, reflecting n the questins at the end f each sectin, and preparing fr weekly presentatins. After a successful 1 st summer internship, students have the pprtunity t be invited t participate in a 2 nd year f the prgram. Internship pprtunities will be available at ur 5 manufacturing centers in Charltte, NC; Bishpville, SC; Ranke, VA; Nashville, TN; and Mbile, AL, and nearby facilities in Claytn, NC; Lavergne, TN; Clumbia, SC; Greenville, NC; Greensbr, NC; and Fayetteville, NC. Each facility has the capacity t accept ne (1) summer intern with the exceptin f Claytn, Charltte, and Nashville where we plan n emplying tw (2) interns each. 4 Internship requirements Interns selected t participate in the CCBCC SCOM Internship prgram will be in their Sphmre r Junir year. It is preferable fr the intern t have the availability t participate in the prgram ver the curse f 2 (tw) summers. Interns will have in their academic backgrund a cncentratin r majr in Supply Chain Management, Lgistics, Manufacturing, Distributin, Inventry Management, Engineering, Business, r related disciplines. There is an expectatin that Interns participating in the prgram btain, at their wn expense, husing in the city f their internship and have the ability t cmmute t their site and ther nearby lcatins. Sme aspects f the internship prgram will invlve physical activity requiring the intern t pick up r carry finished gds weighing between 20-40lbs as well as walk up and dwn stairs. Expectatins Cca-Cla prduces the wrld s mst recgnized beverages and CCBCC is the largest independent bttler in the United States. We take pride in everything we d and adhere t a philsphy, which can be fund in n the first page f the Intern Manual. Each emplyee is a reflectin f CCBCC and while yu are interning with CCBCC yu are cnsidered an emplyee. The SCOM internship is a unique pprtunity fr interns t learn and shwcase their talent. CCBCC has the fllwing expectatins f its interns: CCBCC expects that interns adhere t ur crprate philsphy and maintain a high level f prfessinalism during the internship. Interns are expected t review the material in the manual pertaining t upcming experiences s that they are prepared t ask and answer questins. Interns are expected t arrive n time and dress apprpriately fr the day s experience. Pl and T-shirts are prvided t yu t wear. Unless therwise indicated, business casual is expected and start times are 8am unless therwise specified by the syllabus r Mentr. Yu will be expected t present yur experiences t yur supervisrs n a weekly basis. Yu will be required t design and cmplete a prject at the end f the internship. The purpse f the prject is t identify sme aspect f ur SCOM prcesses (n yur wn r with the help f ne f yur mentrs) that can be imprved upn and benefit CCBCC. Yu will be given tw weeks t cmplete this prject and present it t senir level managers at CCBCC at the end f the internship experience at the SCO main ffice in Charltte, NC. Interns will be evaluated by their supervisr and the mentrs they interact thrughut the internship. As we strive t prvide the best experiences pssible, interns will be required t prvide feedback annymusly abut their experience t the Directr f Internship Prgramming. 5 Week 1 Day 1 On Barding Prcess Cmplete paperwrk with Branch Administratr, cmplete Pure Safety Training, and review Persnal Prtectin Equipment (PPE) requirements Safety Overview Training and testing thrugh Pure Safety Overview f Warehuse/Manufacturing Safety Prtcls Intrductin f Fd Safety Overview with Quality Assurance Emergency Prcedures/Accident Reprting Overview: Frk Lift Training Safe Lifting Techniques General Overview Day 2 Manger Discussin - Manager will prvide verview in all areas listed plus request any system user access ID s where needed, assign a mentr, discuss curriculum requirements, scheduling, and reprting structure 1- Cmpany Overview (Histry & Purpse)/ Bttlewrks vide 2- Lgistics Hierarchy 3- Sales Branch Hierarchy 4- Request All Needed user access ID s Nte: Dress: Business Casual. Manager Tur Facility with Manger and receive an verview f the branch peratins t include Sales and Delivery functins. Day 5 Weekly Reprt & Feedback Students will be respnsible fr prviding weekly reviews/feedback n their experiences each week t their mentrs and invited guests. This is a critical part f the learning prcess. With the cmplexity f the SCOM prcess at CCBCC, this helps t ensure that the intern truly understands each facet f the SCOM prcess. 6 Week 2 Day 1 & 2 Warehuse I Train with Mentr fr hands-n knwledge f picker/pallet respnsibilities and functins including bulk build, lading and check in prcess Overview f Warehuse functins See hw the flw f infrmatin is received and prcessed Experience rder building and lading f rders nt trucks Nte: This facet f the SCOM prcess will invlve physical activity requiring interns t pick up, stack and carry finished gds weighing between 20-40lbs as well as walking up and dwn stairs. Wear cmfrtable shes and clthes. Bring yur lunch. Interns will be given time fr breaks and lunch. Day 3 Bulk/CLift Rute Ride (5:00 a.m. Sale Branch) Interns will team with a pre-assigned driver and g ut n delivery rutes t develp a better understanding f the different prduct delivery methdlgies emplyed at CCBCC. It will give the intern an pprtunity t get hands n experience n the frnt lines f the SCOM prcess. Nte: Interns will be riding in a truck and lifting between 20-40lbs f prduct t assist driver. Wear cmfrtable clthes. Bring a small cler with beverages and fd. Day 4 Tel-Sell/Full-Service Rute Ride (5:00 a.m. Sale Branch) Similar t Day 4, interns will team with a pre-assigned driver fr this discipline t learn and understand the functin and respnsibilities fr these delivery systems. Nte: Interns will be riding in a truck and lifting between 20-40lb. f prduct t assist driver. Wear cmfrtable clthes. Bring a small cler with beverages and fd. 7 Week 3 Day 1-3 Manufacturing Interns will spend 3 days learning the varius functins f the Manufacturing prcess and hw the different rles within this area take raw materials and turn them int finished gds. Interns will train with Mentrs fr hands-n knwledge f the Manufacturing Prcess at CCBCC including: Quality Assurance Prductin Operatins Maintenance Manufacturing-Related Inventry and Recnciliatin Nte: Yu will be walking arund the manufacturing facility fr extended perids f time pssibly lifting and walking up and dwn stairs. Wear PPE, cmfrtable shes and clthes with lng sleeves and pants fr Fd Safety (all necessary infrmatin r training will be prvided). Yu will be given breaks and time fr lunch/dinner. Prepare accrdingly. Day 4 Shipping/Receiving (Afternns) Interns will spend mst f day shadwing in this area t learn mre abut the Shipping and Receiving functin at CCBCC. Specifically, interns will examine: etc. Receiving Prcess fr finished gds, raw materials, depsit items, etc. Receiving Prcess fr finished gds, raw materials, depsit items, etc. Relatinship between Shipping/Receiving with Manufacturing, Warehuse, Nte: Yu will be walking arund the warehuse. 8 Week 4 Day 1 & 2 Warehuse II 2 nd Shift (Day1 Inventry Crdinate Time w/supervisr Day 2 Evening) The secnd shift prvides interns the pprtunity t see ther critical functins f the Warehuse that take place befre the shift starts r after the first leaves. These functins include: Inventry Check-In Prcess Check-ut Prcess Shift Change Truck Lading Shadw Warehuse Lead, Supervisr and Manager n 2 nd shift Nte: Yu will be lifting between 20-40lbs ccasinally and walking up and dwn stairs. Wear PPE and cmfrtable clthes/shes. Yu will be given breaks and time fr lunch/dinner. Prepare accrdingly. Day 3 Rute Ride Sales Manager Nw that interns have an verview f the rle f the Accunt Managers, they will get the pprtunity t ride arund with a Sales Manager in the field and learn the functins f the supervisr s rle and hw they shape the sales that drive ur SCOM prcess. Nte: Dress is business casual. Lunch will be prvided. Day 4 Rute Ride Delivery Manager Crdinating the delivery f ur prducts t ur custmers is a critical part f the SCOM prcess. Interns will have the pprtunity t shadw a Delivery Manager in the field and learn the functins f this supervisr rle and their relatinship with the delivery f finished gds t ur custmers. 9 Week 5 Day week Specializatin/ Begin Prject Develpment This is an pprtunity t select an area within the SCOM Prcess t spend 2 weeks f cncentrated learning. Speak with yur Supervisr abut yur interests. Nte: Yu will be wrking in the area f yur chice gaining a deeper knwledge f the SCOM Prcess f yur chice. During this time yu will meet with yur Mentr/Supervisr t discuss a prject that yu will develp and present at the end f the internship in Charltte, NC t Senir Managers and Directrs. Dress: Business Casual. Lunch will be prvided. Day 2 Travel with Supervisr Interns will travel with their supervisr t learn hw ther branch peratins vary in size and functinality. Meet branch teams and bserve dynamics Nte: Yu will be visiting ther branches learning the similarities and differences f ther lcatins as well as the cnstraints and challenges ther Branches face. Dress: Business Casual. Lunch will be prvided. Day 3 Recap f Weeks 1 7 with Prject Manager Nte: Yu will be in the ffice reviewing yur experiences ver the past 7 weeks with yur supervisr. Day 4 Finalize prject fr presentatin Nte: Yu will be in the ffice spending time wrking n the final tuches fr yur presentatin and discussing any questins yu may have with yur mentrs/supervisrs. 11 Week 8 Day 1 Interns at Charltte, NC Facility Rute Planning CCBCC Crprate Office Visit All current interns will travel t the Charltte, NC branch fr 5 days t experience sme f the ther areas in the SCOM prcess nt available at ther branches including Rute Planning, Demand Planning, etc.) Observe hw cases are dispatched t trucks and delivery rutes are planned based n Sales/Accunt Manager data Presentatins by Crprate Office team (marketing, ISS, HR, etc.) - Secnd half f day) Nte: Yu will be visiting ur crprate ffice with all ther interns learning mre abut hw crprate persnnel interface with SCOM persnnel in the SCOM prcess. Yu will be listening t brief presentatins frm varius crprate persnnel, including a Q&A sessin. Dress: Business Casual. Lunch will be prvided. Day 2 Supply Chain Planning Warehuse Tur Interns will explre the SCP functin f CCBCC and learn the relatinship f SCP within the SCOM prcess. Interns will train with Mentrs fr hands-n knwledge f Demand Planning respnsibilities and functins including: Frecasting Prcurement Prductin planning Fulfillment Brief verview tur f the SPC Warehuse Vertique System Nte: Yu will be in the SCOM main ffice learning the functins f Demand and SCP at CCBCC. Day 3- Transprtatin Interns will learn abut the Transprtatin aspect f the SCOM prcess including: Transprtatin Overview and Histry at CCBCC Functins f Transprtatin The evlutin f RCT &RCTS Team with Interns frm ther Branches Prject Presentatin/Review in frnt f staff Nte: Yu will be wrking alngside interns frm ther intern sites as a grup t present yur experiences frm the internship and yur individual prjects t yur supervisrs and senir level SCOM persnnel.
