Position Summary This role offers an exciting opportunity to join Australia s largest microfinance organisation, Good Shepherd Microfinance. You ll be part of a dynamic and highly innovative team working to build a trusted and loved brand that is having a positive impact on tens of thousands of people every year. But we need to reach more people, in fact our goal is to reach 1 million people on low incomes with microfinance by 2018, and marketing is critical to achieving this. The Marketing Manager is directly responsible for building our profile and reputation through branding, marketing and events. This role is part of a small team who work together to communicate a clear and consistent brand story to our key stakeholders including clients, providers, employees, funders and partners. As a stretch opportunity, this role is also responsible for building our capacity in online fundraising and workplace giving. Primary Focus Areas 1. Marketing strategy including national and local campaigns 2. Brand management for all products and services 3. Events management including conferences and stakeholder events 4. Other marketing and communications activities as required Relationships The Marketing Manager reports to and works closely with the General Manager of Marketing and Communications. The position collaborates with various internal stakeholders including: Operations; Business Development and Innovation; and Corporate Services to develop and communicate the brand story. The individual will also be required to build relationships with external networks including people within our microfinance network of 250 local organisations across Australia, clients of our products and services, corporate partners and funders. Travel requirements This role is primarily based at Northcote with minimal travel both within Victoria and interstate. 2
Duty Statement Developing and implementing an annual Marketing Plan in collaboration with the General Manager Marketing & Communications including goals, timelines, budgets and strategies. Acting as the organisation s brand champion, taking ownership of the brand guidelines, ensuring the guidelines are followed and amending guidelines to accommodate new products and programs. Leading the project management of the annual No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) Conference with responsibility for all elements of the event including theme and program development, identifying and attracting speakers, sponsorship activities, managing suppliers, producing collateral, registration systems, online promotions and competitions. Developing, managing and copywriting for all marketing materials (eg. advertising, signage, brochures, research reports etc.) for our various programs. Developing, managing and implementing marketing campaigns through various channels including print, online, radio, TV and referral sites. This includes working with our pro bono advertising partner, Clemenger Communications. Working with the Content Marketing Manager to ensure there is a clear and consistent story and to integrate and leverage our communication channels. Contributing to content for media and digital communications including three e- newsletters for employees, stakeholders and the provider network. Leading the project management of the Annual Report including planning, copy writing, data collection, graphic design and printing. Working with human resources to supporting internal communication activities and to create an engaged and highly motivated workforce. Developing systems, policies and processes which support the Marketing & Communications team including oversight of the organisation s stakeholder database. Contributing to strategic pitches, copywriting and presentations for award and grant submissions. Managing key events which inform stakeholders about inclusive finance and the impact of our work, this includes a partnership approach to events. Undertaking campaign evaluations which demonstrate the impact of marketing and communication as well as identify areas for continuous improvement. Managing suppliers including graphic designers, advertising agencies, media buying agencies, videographers. Building our capacity to attract donations through online fundraising and workplace giving. Supporting opportunities to develop new community business partnerships and to attract sponsorships. Respecting people, their circumstances and decisions and advocate for and with people who access Good Shepherd Microfinance programs. Maintaining continuous personal and professional development through attendance at relevant events, participating in training / education and on the job stretch opportunities. 3

More than seven years of experience in marketing and communications (financial services or community sector experience highly regarded) 2. Excellent written and oral communication skills 3. Ability to manage relationships with a range of senior internal and external stakeholders 4. Relevant tertiary qualifications, i.e. Marketing or equivalent 5. Demonstrated ability to drive strategic marketing communications campaigns 6. Computer literacy, including experience with relevant software and content management systems and web analytics tools (preferred) e.g. Drupal, Mail Chimp, Google Analytics, Google Ad Words 7. The capacity and commitment to work in alignment with the values of Good Shepherd Microfinance.
