1 The Trust Company Group Position Description Position Title Reports to Business Unit Location Marketing & Communications Manager Head of Marketing (the Acting Head of Marketing in the interim) Marketing and Communications Auckland Direct Reports 1 Position Code: P&D use only Purpose of Position Overall Accountability Key Areas of Accountability To support the business by leading the planning and delivery of marketing and communications initiatives which align to business objectives and deliver revenue growth. To be the client champion across the business, ensuring client needs and the business s value proposition are integrated into business and marketing planning. To deliver integrated initiatives and campaigns which support business objectives as well as overall brand positioning. Marketing planning and implementation o Offer advice and support around the best practice approach to marketing initiatives and campaigns ensuring solutions are targeted at the right audience, using the most cost-effective approach across the full marketing mix and support business goals o Management of an annual marketing plan to support business objectives o Lead, develop, manage and implement end-to-end campaigns and initiatives including brain storming, creative briefing and management, data selection, final execution and results tracking o Work with a range of key stakeholders across the business to simplify and enhance processes for marketing, client communication and engagement o Work closely with the Australian team to share success and best practice campaigns and initiatives External Communications o Develop and support the delivery and implementation of the Public Relations strategy in line with business objectives ensuring regular communication with the Australian team to deliver alignment across the Group o Provide advice and insight to develop proactive, reactive and crisis communications plans as appropriate o Oversee the development of press releases ensuring appropriate sign off procedures are followed o Where appropriate manage and develop all forms of advertising to support campaigns and raise awareness of Guardian Trust including online
2 o Ensure all advertising is appropriate for the target audience and is on brand aligning with broader corporate messages o Manage the strategic direction of all company collateral, ensuring it remains up-to-date, supports business initiatives and aligns to brand guidelines o Manage the online direction for the Guardian Trust website, ensuring content is relevant to our target audience and the channel is maximised as an owned media source of lead generation o Consider and utilise the online environment and online tools to deliver innovative campaigns and initiatives relevant to our target audience and the needs of the business o Manage Guardian Trust brand, ensuring it remains consistent across all touch points o Continually evolve the brand ensuring the guidelines developed are appropriate for target audiences Internal Communications o Working with the Australian team, write and deliver communications on behalf of the Board, the CEO the Executive Team and other departments o Co-ordinate internal communication campaigns and provide support to broader departments including P&D and IT o Manage and develop content as required for the intranet ensuring business units maintain accountability for their specific site areas Market Research o Manage the client satisfaction survey for NZ as part of the Group process, liaising with the business to ensure the research is designed around specific outcomes and is actioned and used for future benefit o Manage ad-hoc research requirements including consumer segmentation and other initiatives Stakeholder Management o Manage a broad range of stakeholders with different priorities and degrees of seniority Agency Management o Manage a range of third party suppliers including design, brand and PR agencies, ensuring clarity of roles, delivery requirements and value for money Management Information Reporting o Manage the budget and account for all team spending making appropriate choices on spend in line with ROI o Contribute to reporting and dashboards that inform business decisions and raise awareness of key Marketing metrics High Performing Team o Communicate business plan objectives and regularly review ongoing performance indicators for direct report Page 2 of 5
3 Other Accountabilities From time to time the role is required to undertake other projects and responsibilities as required by the group Skills & Attributes Experience, Professional &Educational Requirements Highly commercial with the ability to distil business priorities in to a successful marketing and communications plan Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to make the right decisions to support business direction and deliver on this Natural ability to influence a course of action and relevant stakeholders to achieve a desired outcome Strong written and verbal communications skills A proactive open attitude Highly professional in the workplace and diligent Sophisticated in the understanding of marketing principles and frameworks with the ability to apply them in practice Completed tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications or a related discipline At least 5-7 years experience in a marketing or communications related role Experience of managing and developing a direct report The Trust Company Group Behaviours Client Focused We focus our efforts on discovering, anticipating and meeting our clients needs and doing the right thing by our client, both internal and external.
