The will be responsible for leading and managing a small team of staff and will also contribute to the operational and strategic goals of the organisation. 3 3 monitor staff progress Work collaboratively with staff to plan, implement and improve services Lead team meetings and discussions to track and improve program performance Identify the training needs of staff and implement strategies to meet these needs Perform annual appraisals with staff members Represent Northern Services on the YWCA Management Committee Ensure there is no duplication within the team and human resources are maximised Ensure staff and volunteers adhere to legislation and organisational policies relating to Occupational Health and Safety and Welfare Provide updates on program performance to the Operations Manager via monthly meetings and reports Oversee Northern Services finances including managing the budget, reforecasting income and expenditure and providing financial updates to the Operations Manager and Department of Families and Communities Undertake regular program planning to set goals, action plans and review schedules for the team within the parameters of the budget and contractual obligations Determine and implement appropriate evaluation methods and tools to capture demographic data, outcomes of case management and program delivery and areas for improvement within the program a clear understanding of their role Communication within the team is optimal and staff feel supported and motivated The individual strengths of the team are identified and capitalised on and areas for improvement are addressed Annual appraisals are of high quality and conducted in a timely manner Senior Management are aware of developments with Northern Services and any issues that arise Northern Services staff members and volunteers report working in a safe environment A break-even budget is produced and met annually for government contracts Northern Services is delivered in-line with the contractual agreement with the Department of Families and Communities YWCA of Adelaide has a sound understanding of client and stakeholder needs, program outcomes, and areas for service improvement Key Result Area 3 Program sustainability Key Tasks: Work alongside the Operations Manager, Business Development Manager and Communications Manager to identify opportunities for new government contracts, partnerships, corporate sponsorship or fee-for-service activities Collaborate with agencies and local government to develop new project ideas and identify potential project funds In conjunction with the Communications Manager, write tender submissions to funding bodies Maintain strong relationships with the Department of Families and Job holder is successful when: The Operations Manager, Business Development Manager and Communications Manager have a clear understanding of potential areas of growth for Northern Services A minimum of $500,000 in funding has been applied for in grant applications over the financial year YWCA of Adelaide has an excellent reputation with

Educational/Vocational Qualifications 2.1 Relevant tertiary qualifications (such as a degree in Social Work) or equivalent experience working in similar roles in the human services sector. 3. Experience 3.1 Management and support of staff and volunteers. 3.2 Experience in program development and management in a community based organisation including the ability to form productive partnerships and alliances with stakeholders. 3.2 Significant experience in the provision of counselling, programs, training and group work, preferably with vulnerable young people. 3.3 Working with diverse, disadvantaged and multicultural groups. 3.4 Working within an outcome-based framework. 4. Knowledge 4.1 Knowledge of Human Resource Management. 4.2 Knowledge of the community sector with a focus on youth and/or women's organisations and networks. 4.3 Sound understanding of issues affecting young people, especially women, living within difficult or disadvantaged circumstances.

The hours will generally be conducted between Monday and Friday from 9am 5pm or as negotiated with the Operations Manager. 4. The position requires flexibility in working hours and work outside of normal business hours from time to time i.e. evenings and some weekends.
