As an experienced direct marketing fundraiser familiar in all aspects of individual giving, you will help to steer the organisation s fundraising efforts in the established UK market. You will use your creative copywriting skills and experience to connect with a broad range of audiences in support of our mission, vision and values. This role will pitch your skills and experience alongside those of the broader team to further develop established acquisition, retention and regular giving channels; and expand income generation activity through new digital channels and other innovative fundraising means. Your proven track record in engaging with new audiences and motivating existing supporters will be of fundamental importance in carrying organisational successes onto the next level. Job description 1. Support the Development Director to plan, implement and evaluate a range of direct marketing acquisition and retention campaigns, across direct mail, telephone, and digital channels as required. 2. Assist the Development Director in the development of strategic and tactical individual giving plans across traditional channels in both the UK and international environments.

3 3. Review campaign performance results to inform the selection of data segments for future activity. 4. Plan, brief, manage and evaluate the work of external suppliers. 5. Create in-house content and copy to deadline in support of the organisation s planned for and reactive fundraising and communications activity; and management of organisational print and production. 6. Proactively support the wider team to ensure that the integrity of the supporter database is maintained to a suitably high standard, and assist with supporter care enquiries. 7. Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the laws surrounding income generation activities and ensure that the organisation s fundraising processes across the channels are compliant with best practice, relevant codes of conduct, and data protection legislation. 8. Work creatively to support the Development Director and the wider team to plan and deliver new innovative fundraising and communications opportunities. 9. Develop and maintain high professional standards, and work with colleagues drawn from across the organisation to assist in the delivery of project work. 10. At the request of the Development Director undertake any other duties consistent with the post and assist with other areas of work as required. Person specification Essential Criteria Expertise, competence and skills 1. Strong and proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines. 2. Demonstrable creative thought and the aptitude to proactively problem solve to identify and deliver improvements to systemic processes. 3. Excellent written and proof reading skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate detailed information to a wide audience.

4 Qualifications (IT, academic, vocational) 4. Educated to degree standard or equivalent. 5. Chartered Institute of Marketing, Institute of Fundraising or Institute of Direct Marketing diploma. Experience 6. Excellent IT skills including experience using Word, Excel, and CRM databases. 7. Experience of managing and delivering a broad variety of individual giving activities from conception to completion, and of measuring and analysing results to ensure continuous improvement. 8. Experience of managing a range of agencies and suppliers including digital, creative, media, data, print, telemarketing, response handling and fulfilment. 9. Experience of innovative multi-channel fundraising. 10. Experience of working to targets, managing distinct budgets, and the ability to monitor and control performance against your targets. 11. Experience of planning and delivering fundraising activity within budget and to target. 12. Experience of undertaking profiling, data modelling and statistical analysis. 13. Experience of international individual giving campaigns. 14. A thorough understanding of Data Protection legislation and of other codes of practice applicable to marketing and income generation in the not-for-profit sector.
