Atlanta, GA (June 12, 2004): From one side of the world to the other, Telex recently travelled from the Telex-installed venues of Summer Olympics host Athens, Greece to Atlanta, Georgia, (1996 home of the Summer Olympics) to show off new products, talk about its success in Athens, and wow customers, consultants, contractors, and integrators alike with a host of educational sessions, demonstrations, and unique after-hours activities at this year s InfoComm. The excitement was ubiquitous and palpable at this year s event - - it seemed that everywhere you looked at this year s show there were either Telex Pro Audio brand products being used or a Telex-sponsored event taking place. 3 Heydekampf Joins Industry Luminaries in Manufacturers Forum Before the show even commenced, the evening of Tuesday, June 5 th marked this year s InfoComm Manufacturers Forum from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., where Telex Pro Audio Group President Mathias von Heydekampf once again captivated an audience of contractors, consultants, and systems integrators. Asked to speak for the second consecutive year as the sole audio manufacturer, Heydekampf sat on a panel that included industry luminaries Sony, Hewlett-Packard, Polycom, Crestron, and Extron. By the end of the evening there was no doubt that Heydekampf had once again thrilled the attendees as his comments set fellow panelists, the moderator, and the audience into thought-provoking discourse. As per the usual, Heydekampf s unique anecdotes, charisma, and keen industry observations also drew some much needed laughter Telex Pro Audio Brings Unique Educational Opportunities to InfoComm Attendees Telex Communications, Inc. scheduled a variety of educational and instructional events at InfoComm 2004 led by some of the most respected personalities in the Pro Audio industry. Telex Pro Audio Hosts Second Annual Consultants Breakfast One of the show s most successful events this year was Telex Communications annual Consultants Breakfast, hosted by industry icon Jim Long, Mike Webb, and a host of other product managers. Unique sound solutions for corporate boardroom settings were discussed, including PolarChoice Satellite wireless podium- and PolarChoice Desktop-microphones, Telex SAFE-1000 encrypted wireless, and other EV/Telex wireless technologies. Vision 2 Marketing Holds Dealer Reception That same evening Vision 2 Marketing, recent additions to the Telex Communications family of sales representatives, hosted a very successful Dealer Reception in the Ballroom at 6pm. Telex Pro Audio Co-sponsors/Provides Sound for Phil Keaggy Concert with Church Production Magazine Perhaps the highlight of June 10 th was the Church Production/Telex sponsored Phil Keaggy concert in the Sidney Marcus Auditorium. Church Production Magazine s T3 Technical Training Tour, in conjunction with Christian Musician Magazine and concert sponsors Telex Pro Audio Group, brought guitar virtuoso Phil Keaggy to InfoComm Phil Keaggy, a Christian artist with wide appeal in both Christian and secular audiences, is one of the most admired guitarists active in music today. Phil Keaggy was the Nashville Music Award's Guitarist of the Year in 1998, and has been on Guitar Player Magazine s list of top three acoustic guitarists on several occasions. He is a Dove Award-winning, Grammy-nominated instrumentalist, playing a wide range of guitar styles including rock, country, Celtic and Spanish. Besides being a consummate musician, Phil Keaggy is also one of Christian music s most entertaining performers. Performing for two-and-a-half hours (an hour and a half past his obligation), Keaggy made some very positive remarks about the Electro-Voice Xlc compact-format linearray sound system, which was powered by Electro-Voice remote-controlled amps and featured a Midas console and Klark Teknik processing at FOH. Telex Communications Special Projects Coordinator Monte Wise, Concert Sound Specialists Jim Pfitzinger and Mick Whelan, and Fixed Install/Loudspeakers Product Manager Guillermo Wabi pulled the show off without a hitch. Keaggy s road manager/foh engineer Brian Persall was similarly pleased, remarking: The EV PA was outstanding. Phil was very happy. And to work with pro s like Monte, Mick, Jim, and rest wow!
