5 Postmaster General Welcome NPF Chairman Welcome Dear 2015 National Postal Forum Attendees: Thank you for attending the premier annual gathering of America s mailing industry. With more than 3500 attendees and 105 exhibitors, the National Postal Forum plays a vital role in bringing our industry together. We share best practices, showcase new technologies, and create valuable connections and opportunities to grow your business. This year s theme is especially apt. As our industry adapts to an increasingly digital world, growth strategies depend on sharing and rapidly adopting best practices, especially with regard to data and technology use. That s why the Forum plays such an important role in spurring growth in our industry. This year we are offering more than 130 workshops. We ve also created a variety of specialty sessions tailored to small businesses, mail service providers, and many others who comprise our industry. In addition to the Mail Design Professional course, we have added the Executive Mail Center Manager Certification. This comprehensive course typically taught in Oklahoma, has been brought here to the Forum for your convenience and added value to your registration. In her first General Session as Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer, Megan Brennan will outline opportunities to revitalize and shape a stronger mailing industry. Back to this year s Forum is the very popular Tuesday General Session. This session will discuss Technology and how the USPS is using Innovation to help your business succeed. At the Wednesday lunch the NPF will recognize Partners and Sponsors and award-winning author Alison Levine will speak on leadership and motivating your team. First-Time Attendees Helping those who are new to the NPF or the mailing industry is an important part of the NPF mission. That s why first-year attendees have a blue dot on their name badges so veteran attendees can welcome them and offer assistance! If this is your first year at the NPF, look for anyone wearing a STAFF ribbon or NPF badge if you have questions or need help and be sure to attend the Forum Orientation Session - 1:30 pm in room 210A to learn more about how to get the most out of your NPF experience! Hours: Monday Wednesday 9:00 AM 5:00 PM USPS Lean Mail Processing Showcasing Innovative Solutions Lean Mail Processing (LMP) is part of the Postal Service s ongoing effort to reduce waste and improve efficiency in operations leveraging Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology. The LMP Innovation challenge is a competition to showcase innovative Lean solutions implemented in Mail Processing, Delivery, Maintenance, Transportation, and Retail and Customer Service Operations. There were over 150 submissions from the USPS field units across the nation. There are two categories for competition and projects were judged by a panel with a diverse Continuous Improvement background. See the monitors located in the NPF Registration to view the submission and learn more about LMP. Operations Industrial Engineers will be at available to answer any questions you may have. Convenient NPF Mailing Service Take advantage of the free USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Box at participating exhibitor booths or the USPS Retail Station. You ll receive free postage ($12.65) donated by the exhibitors below. After you collect your postage and box, drop your package off at the USPS Retail Station in the Convention Center Hall D Lobby.
