Target Audience Physicians specializing in sports medicine, physical therapists, certified athletic trainers, coaches, chiropractors, personal trainers, nurses and other clinicians specializing in active patients. Conference Overview This conference is intended to provide the sports medicine practitioner with a comprehensive overview of the medical care and management of the triathlete. Experts in the area of triathlon training will be combined with leading Sports Medicine physicians in the Twin Cities to discuss prevention and treatment of common injuries of the elite triathlete, as well as, the novice athlete participating for health and enjoyment. OBJECTIVES Upon completion of the conference, participants should be able to: Improve the ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat common injuries in triathletes during training and competition. Discuss the correct way to do a bike fit and gait analysis guided by experts in the field Discuss nutrition and strength training for endurance athletes KEYNOTE SPEAKER Hunter Kemper, Professional Triathlete, 2008, 2004, & 2000 Olympian, 2005 USOC Sportsman of the Year. Hunter Kemper will be discussing his experience as an elite athlete and challenges he has faced.
