2 program overview and general information Objectives This live CME activity is designed for pediatricians, family physicians, internal medicine physicians, sports medicine physicians, emergency medicine physicians, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, athletic trainers, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, chiropractors and nurses. The intended result of this activity is to provide current and stateof-the-art evaluation and management of common sports medicine topics by increasing competence and performance in caring for the school-aged to college athlete. At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: Develop an appropriate concussion management plan specific to the injured athlete for school personnel. Demonstrate an age-appropriate knee and hip exam. List common skin conditions affecting the athlete. Interpret lower-extremity and ankle radiographs of a young athlete. Discuss stress fractures of the lower extremity of the young athlete. Sponsored By This live activity is being sponsored by Washington University School of Medicine, Continuing Medical Education. Accreditation Washington University is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credit Washington University designates this live activity for a maximum of 10 AMA PRA Category 1 credits. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Washington University is recognized by the NATA Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers. This program has been approved for a maximum of 10 hours of Category A continuing education. Certified Athletic Trainers are responsible for claiming only those hours actually spent participating in the continuing education activity. According to the educational levels described by the CEC Committee of the NATA, the following continuing education course is considered to be Advanced. Washington University School of Medicine is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Missouri Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation. Hotel Accommodations A special rate of $125/night for a single room and $145/night for a suite will be honored based on room availability. Evening at the Ballpark Bring a friend and join us after the conference on Friday, July 20th for a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game vs the Chicago Cubs. Game time is 7:15pm. Regular Cardinals tickets are $35 each, located in Leftfield Box in Section 167. All inclusive tickets are $65 each, located in Homer s Landing or Leftfield Landing.
