2 OVERVIEW There is increased awareness that the optimal treatment of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) requires a multidisciplinary approach involving not only many medical specialties, but also many levels of care physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists, and nurses, as well as the active involvement of the patients themselves and their families. While specialized IBD conferences for physicians abound, conferences intended specifically for other professionals are lacking. Our goal is to provide the most up-to-date information in the clinical, multidisciplinary care of patients with IBD. This program is structured in a clinical case format so as to provide the most relevancy to practice. Our faculty is composed of expert specialists, both physicians and advance practice clinicians in all key areas of IBD care. These specialists will lead the clinical case sessions and also host professional and patient panels.
