2 Intent and Objectives Continuing Education Credit Emerging Frontiers in Concussion will focus on emerging, evidence-based trends in concussion from on-field assessments to active clinical treatment pathways. At the conclusion of the program, participants should be able to: Identify advances in the pathophysiology of concussion. Understand comprehensive and cutting-edge imaging; and neurocognitive, vestibular-ocular, and other diagnostic assessments. Classify acute and subacute prognostic factors for recovery. Recognize active, interdisciplinary treatment and rehabilitation approaches to concussion and post-concussion syndrome including academic accommodations; exertion protocols; medications; and cognitive, physical, vestibular, and vision therapies. Who Should Attend This conference is designed for physicians, neuropsychologists, athletic trainers, physical therapists, and other allied health professionals (RN, PA, NP), as well as students and researchers involved or interested in concussion. Conference Location The meeting will be held at the UPMC Center for Sports Medicine, 3200 S. Water St., Pittsburgh, PA, on day one, and at the Omni William Penn Hotel, 530 William Penn Place, Pittsburgh, PA on days two and three. Special Needs Participation by all individuals is encouraged. Advance notification of any special needs will help us provide better service.
