Our Latino Youth Recognition Day Program at Fenway Park (now in its 14 th year) has been nationally recognized as a model for combining corporate partnerships, professional sports marketing and grassroots community outreach. Pre-Game Ceremony: Top middle school students receive a Certificate of Recognition handed to them by their favorite Latino superstars as their name and school are announced and featured on the centerfield scoreboard. 7 High Visibility Event Distribution Distribution Over the course of 36 years of serving the Latino community El Mundo has been able to establish an extensive network of reaching our 30,000 weekly readers. Through the use of traditional as well as creative and out of the box distribution methods, El Mundo has been able to secure a general visibility and accessibility that is unmatched. Our traditional distribution routes cover over 21 cities and towns throughout Eastern Massachusetts as our diverse readership represents 22 different Latin American nationalities. Every Wednesday evening and Thursday morning our eight (8) independent distributors pick up copies directly from our printer or at our main offices in Jamaica Plain. These distributors deliver the newspaper to over 1,500 drop off points that range from traditional grocery stores, supermarkets and newsstands, to individual businesses that have a high traffic of Latino customers.
8 High Visibility Event Distribution El Mundo is Everywhere In addition to the traditional drop off points El Mundo also circulates at the following events: Latino Professional Events Complimentary copies of El Mundo Newspaper are made available at all of the high profile Latino events held in the community throughout the year. The monthly Latino Professional Networking events, the Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours events, and the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) meetings and summits are places where you will always find El Mundo Newspaper in the hands of the Latino community s movers and shakers. The Latino Career Expos Over 2,000 Latino job and career seekers attend each one of the two Latino Career Expos that are held yearly and a complimentary issue of El Mundo Newspaper is handed to each person attending the event. Festivals El Mundo Newspaper is the only publication that expands its circulation by an additional 25% for free distribution at each one of the following major festivals: Lawrence Semana Hispana (third week in June) The Puerto Rican Festival (fourth week in June), and the Dominican Festival (second week of August). Fenway Park An additional 5,000 copies are distributed at the El Mundo Family Festival celebrated each year at Fenway Park. El Mundo Newspaper is also distributed at each one of the Latino Youth Recognition Days at Fenway Park each year and a complimentary issue is awarded to each one of the honored students and their families that attend the games. T-stops At the beginning of 2006 El Mundo began distribution outside of several key public transportation stations. At the end of the third quarter of 2007, we were circulating in five (5) stations with an average of 500 copies distributed at each one, on a weekly basis. More stations will be added to the list that currently includes State Street, Haymarket, Maverick, Forest Hills, and Jackson Square stops.
