9 Description of Events Legislative Breakfast: Connect with the state legislators that cover your district. Stay informed about the issues that affect your business and community. Municipal Breakfast: Listen to municipal leaders from Billerica, Chelmsford, Dracut, Lowell, Tewksbury, Tyngsboro and Westford. Let your voice, opinions and concerns be heard. W.I.S.E. (Women Inspiring Success & Empowerment): Every year the women of W.I.S.E. host an annual meeting filled with inspiration for all women in business. This year s event will feature a panel of women to talk about Women & Philanthropy. Money raised at this event helps support our W.I.S.E. Scholarship given to a Greater Lowell woman who is going back to school/training to better her life and in many cases. her family s as well. Annual Membership Meeting & YouTube Video Awards: This event serves as a recap of the year and a forecast into the new year. Our outgoing board Chairman is honored and our new Chair and Vice Chair are welcomed. The Full and Executive Board are also acknowledged. In 2011, we introduced the YouTube Video Awards at the Annual Meeting. GLCC members are invited to submit a YouTube Video that is broadcast across our networks for voting. The top three videos are played at the meeting and awarded Oscars. Mardi Gras Madness: This is the Chamber s only big fundraiser of the year. On Tuesday, February 17th, we will draw the name of our Mardi Gras Madness winner. The prize will include $1,000 and a lot of other great prizes. There will only be one winner, so the more donations we get (tickets, electronics, etc.) the bigger the prize will be Business Expo & Showcase: Exhibit with over 100 other local businesses, with new additions and twists added every year This is the GLCC s premier event and is always a crowd pleaser with hundreds of attendees Community Service Scholarship: This scholarship is given to Greater Lowell high school seniors and is based entirely on community service. Grades and financial need are not a factor when granting this award. New Member Coffee: This is an outreach effort to welcome and provide a brief orientation for new members. Current members are also invited to attend and introduce themselves to new members. Greater Lowell Chamber Game Show: New in 2015, join the Chamber as we travel throughout Greater Lowell to challenge businesses, schools and organizations to test their wits 7
