1 Recrding a PwerPint Using Camtasia Studi Recrding a PwerPint With Sund: 1. Open the Camtasia Studi applicatin 2. In the Welcme windw, click n the New PwerPint Recrding buttn. If this screen desn't shw up fr yu, yu can click n the Recrd the screen drp-dwn menu n the left hand side f the screen and select Recrd PwerPint. If the Micrsft PwerPint applicatin was already pened, the cmputer will switch t that prgram. Otherwise it will pen PwerPint autmatically and switch t it. Select and pen the presentatin fr which yu wuld like t recrd narratin. 3. Click n the Add-Ins tab in Micrsft PwerPint t see the Camtasia Studi recrding tlbar. Minimally, yu will need t select the micrphne t recrd audi, Yu will knw that is has been selected when yu see an range square arund it as seen in Figure 1. If yu have Camtasia Relay installed, yu will want t deselect Aut recrd with Camtasia Relay s it is n lnger range. 5. Click n the Recrd buttn. A small windw will pp up in the lwer right hand crner f yur screen which will shw yu the ht keys t pause and stp yur presentatin nce yu have begun recrding. See Figure 2. When using a micrphne, yu can see hw lud yu're speaking by lking at the bar under "Micrphne" that will mve depending n the vlume f yur vice. Yu generally want t keep the bar in the middle range where the clr is yellw. The slider bar t the right f "Micrphne" is the vlume yu have yur micrphne set at. Mine is currently turned all the way up.

Here's a tip: Once yu've pushed Ctrl+Shift+F9 t pause yur recrding, yu can push that key sequence again t resume the recrding. A tip windw may shw up after clicking Click t begin recrding. These can be useful. Yu can chse an ptin n the windw t have it nt shw up when yu begin recrding anymre. 7. Once yu've finished yur presentatin, press the key sequence Ctrl+Shift+F10. A windw will pp up infrming yu that yur presentatin has ended and asking what yu'd like t d. T save the Camtasia recrding f the presentatin, click Stp Recrding and save yur file. T cntinue recrding, click Cntinue Recrding. 8. After saving yur presentatin, a windw will pp up asking if yu'd like t prduce r edit yur recrding. Underneath the "What wuld yu like t d?" bx there's an "Online vide tutrials" bx with links that will help yu with yur next step. If yu chse Prduce yur recrding skip t the first bullet under step 11. If yu chse Edit yur recrding the Camtasia Studi windw will pp up and yu'll see yur vide (and any audi if yu chse t use a micrphne during yur presentatin) n a timeline at the bttm f the screen. 9. A "Prject Settings" windw will pp up. Select Change the vide dimensins in the "Resizing Optins" bx. This is the secnd ptin. Click OK. 10. Edit yur Camtasia vide. Under Help -> Camtasia Studi Help there are tips, hints and guidelines t help yu edit yur vide. 11. Once yu've finished editing yur vide, click n Prduce and Share... near the tp f the screen in the middle. Frm the drp-dwn menu, select Share t Camtasia Relay (Nte: if yu d nt have this ptin, yu must first dwnlad and install Camtasia Relay frm ) Click the Finish buttn if the lgin screen des nt pp up On the Camtasia Relay lgin screen, enter yur NMU Username and Passwrd

3 Click the Lg In buttn The next screen shuld have yur user infrmatin Frm the Prfile Drp-Dwn menu, select NMU Type the name f yur presentatin in the Presentatin Title field. Type a Presentatin Descriptin if desired 12. Click the Submit buttn. 13. Wait while yur vide renders. This culd take a lng time, depending n hw lng yur vide is. 14. A bx will appear that tells yu yur vide has been upladed t the server. Click OK. Adding files t Wildcast: 1. Befre yu can embed yur Camtasia vides in an nline curse r web page, yu will need t add them t Wildcast, NMU's pdcast server. 2. Open yur web brwser, and in the address bar type: 3. If yu already have a pdcast, prceed t step 4. If this is yur first time n the site, yu will have t Signup. T d s, select "Pdcast Signup" frm the Menu. 4. Click the lgin link Type yur NMU Username and Passwrd and click the "Lgin" buttn.

4 5. If yu wish t place the upladed Camtasia Relay episde int an existing pdcast, prceed with step 6. If yu want t create a new pdcast first, prceed t step Under Camtasia Relay Episdes, yu will see the episde yu just upladed. It may take a while t prcess this file. Once it has been prcessed, yu will be able t select the pdcast int which yu wuld like t place the episde. 7. Frm the Select a Pdcast drp-dwn menu, chse the pdcast int which yu wuld like t place the episde and click the Select buttn. This cncludes the prcess fr adding yur files t Wildcast. If yu wuld like t add pdcast episdes t EduCat, prceed t the Embedding the Pdcast Episde in EduCat sectin f this dcument. 8. Select "Manage Pdcasts." 9. Select the "Create a New Pdcast" buttn. 10. Type a title, curse sequence number, date, descriptin, lcatin f the PdCast and academic term. 11. Click the Create This Pdcast buttn. 12. Click the Hme Link and prceed t step 6 Embedding the PdCast Episde int EduCat: 1. Under the sectin f yur PdCast n NMU WildCast, select the episde name frm the drp-dwn menu sectin f "Episde". 2. Click the "Edit Episde" buttn. 3. In the "Embed Vide", select the cde (it will turn blue when selected). 4. Right-Click and chse cpy. 5. Lg int the curse yu'd like the vide upladed t in EduCat.

5 6. With Editing On, select the drp-dwn menu f "Add a Resurce " and chse "Cmpse a Web Page". 7. Type the name f the file in the "Name" bx f "Adding a new Resurce t Tpic". 8. Scrll dwn t the "Cmpse a web Page" field. 9. Frm the html editr tl bar, select the duble arrws t switch t the HTML view. 10. Paste the Embed Vide cde cped frm step 3 int this "Cmpse a web page" bx f EduCat. 11. Select the "Save and display" buttn t save the file. This will display the vide playback windw t ensure the file is crrectly embedded int EduCat.
