Using the 3M Cloud Library: Kindle Fire

Please nte: Installatin is a special wrkarund fr Andrid devices that d nt have access t the Ggle Play Stre, such as the Kindle Fire. Regular Kindle Fires 1. G t the settings menu n the Kindle Fire (it is the gear icn at the tp) n sme Kindles yu will have t swipe dwn frm the tp f the screen t get the Quick Settings menu and tap Mre. 2. Chse Device (n sme Kindles yu will have t chse Settings then Device.) 3. Turn t ON the switch fr Allwing Installatin f Applicatins frm Unknwn Surces. Newer Kindle Fire HD 4. Swipe dwn frm the tp f the screen. This pulls up the Quick Settings menu. 5. Tap Mre. 6. Chse Settings then Device. 7. Turn t ON the ptin t Allw Installatin f Applicatins frm Unknwn Surces. Nw, install the 3M Clud Library app 8. G t the brwser n yur Kindle Fire and visit SlideMe.rg. If asked if yu wish t view the site in mbile frmat, say Yes. 9. Use the search bx t find 3M Clud 10. When yu've fund the 3M Clud Library app, tap the Free buttn. 11. This pulls up the 3M Clud Library app's page--tap Dwnlad. 2 12. Finalize installatin. Kindle Fire A little number icn will appear in a circle at the tp f the display when the dwnlad is cmplete. Tap the number and fllw the n screen instructins t finish installatin. On sme Kindles yu will have t swipe frm the tp t see the Quick Settings screen. Fr example: every year we pst the Oak Park River Frest High Schl Summer Reading List. Swipe the screen t see mre titles n the shelf, r select Shw All t see all f the bks n a shelf. Srt by relevance, newest, etc. t see the bks in a particular rder; if there are a lt f bks n a particular shelf, chse Lad Mre t see mre titles. Categries here yu can brwse by bth categry and subcategry; fr example, fictin has several subcategries ranging frm Actin & Adventure t Westerns. Search - this is a very simple search. It is best t just use an authr name r title. My Bks Access any current checkuts, yur hlds list, messages, reading list, wish list, and yur accunt prfile frm here. This is als where yu lg ut f the app. Check ut a bk 1. When yu have fund a bk, tap n it. The bk's details page will shw, alng with a green checkut buttn. If the bk is already checked ut, yu will be given the ptin t put it n hld instead. 2. The app will next g t the My Bks sectin, and the bk will begin dwnlading int the wd-paneled Currently Reading area. Reading a bk Open a bk: g t My Bks and tap the cver f the bk in the wd-paneled area. Turn a page: tap the right margin t g frward, tap the left margin t back up. 5 FAQs Clse a bk: tap the center f the bk page; this pulls up a menu. Tap the buttn that lks like a set f leaning bks in the upper left crner t exit. Change Reading Settings: tap the center f the bk page and chse the gear-shaped buttn. This will pull up a little bx where yu can edit text size, screen brightness, etc. Five bks may be checked ut at a time. Bks check ut fr 21 days. There is nt a renewal ptin, but yu can check ut the bk again immediately if n ne else had it n hld. Early return is encuraged t release the bk fr anther t use. Here's hw: G t My Bks. Hlds Tap the "List View" buttn in the upper right side f the wd-paneled area. Tap the bk yu are dne with. This shws the bk details page, and there will be a red "check in" buttn at the bttm. Small devices may have t scrll t see this buttn. Tap the "return bk" buttn t cnfirm. Yu will have the ptin t rate the bk at this time. T be ntified when it is yur turn fr a hld, g t My Bks >Accunt Prfile. Tap Ntificatins and give the app yur address. It will send yu a cnfirmatin ; fllw the instructins in the t finalize setup.
