The title f the presentatin (remember that attendees have a chice f sessins t attend s the title shuld be interesting and als must accurately reflect the cntent f yur presentatin) Making FMEA a Mre Pwerful and Effective Reliability Tl 2. A shrt summary t describe the presentatin in the brchure and n the website (must be print-ready and apprximately wrds) Failure Mde and Effects Analysis (FMEA) has had varying degrees f success, as implemented by cmpanies wrldwide. When implemented effectively, this tl has the ptential t be a pwerful aid in reducing r eliminating the risk frm prduct designs and manufacturing prcesses t bring abut mre successful prduct launches. This presentatin examines why FMEA has nt been living up t its ptential in sme rganizatins, and describes hw t get better results with individual FMEAs and hw t implement a mre effective verall FMEA prcess. Prgram-Specific FMEAs Perfrmed by a team f a manageable size with the required expertise during the windw f pprtunity that maximizes the impact f the analysis t drive imprvements. Basic FMEA Steps Management Reviews High risk issues shuld be escalated t the Failure Review Bard prcess t bring prper cntext and wnership t the issue. Quality Audits Prvides feedback lp t imprve the FMEA prcess. Quality Objectives samples are prvided in the appendices f the SAE J1739 standard. Supplier FMEAs Include the requirement fr FMEAs f supplier cmpnents that are identified as higher risk int the cntracts. Review supplier FMEAs based n the rganizatin s quality bjectives. Executin f Recmmended Actins FMEAs have little value unless the recmmended actins are fully executed. FMEA team shuld stay intact during the executin stage and shuld be empwered t initiate actins that will reduce the risk t an acceptable level.
