9 RGR30208 Certificate III in Racing (Advanced Stablehand) The advanced stablehand works to the delegated instructions of a trainer who has overall responsibility for the enterprise. There is a degree of autonomy within the delegation, for example, an advanced stablehand is permitted under the rules of racing to act for the trainer on race days and when operating as a foreperson in the stable environment directs and coordinates one or more stablehands. Stablehand Foreperson Assistant Trainer Part time: 18 RGR40108 Certificate IV in Racing (Racehorse Trainer) A racehorse trainer is a person who is licensed to operate a business that trains horses under racing industry regulated licensing criteria for the purpose of competing in industry-regulated events. The trainer is responsible for the care, maintenance and racing performance of the animals. Racehorse Trainer Part time: 18 EQUINE/RACING RGR40208 Certificate IV in Racing (Jockey) A jockey is an independent professional sportsperson licensed by thoroughbred racing industry authorities to compete in industryregulated competition. The jockey contracts riding services on a daily basis to owners and trainers. A jockey possesses the highest level of race riding and horse handling skills, which require application of problem solving skills to unpredictable problems Apprentice Jockey Jockey Part time: 36 RGR20108 Certificate II in Racing (Stablehand) A stablehand is a person who is employed in a thoroughbred racing stable and whose prime function is to care for the animals and to meet their individual needs of feeding, grooming, exercising and transporting; as well as keeping the environment safe, clean and hygienic. Stablehand Part time: 18 RGR30108 Certificate III in Racing (Trackrider) A trackrider is a person who is independently engaged or employed to exercise thoroughbred horses on the instruction of a trainer. The duties require judgement and the ability to communicate information concerning horse health, performance and temperament accurately to the trainer as well as high level riding skills and the ability to interpret and relay information covering a variety of circumstances. 10 SIH40111 Certificate IV in Hairdressing This qualification reflects highly skilled hairdressers who implement technical skills as part of co-ordinating a salon team. This qualification applies a broad range of knowledge and support in technical leadership, training and support to colleagues. 11 COMPETITIVE SYSTEMS CIVIL CONSTRUCTION MSS40312 Certificate IV in Competitive Systems and Practices This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required by a team leader or other person to implement competitive systems and practices in the work of a team or work group, or by a specialist in competitive systems and practices. The target job roles may be in production or operations, office, maintenance, transport and logistics, and other job roles requiring the skills delivered by completing the qualification. TLILIC2001A Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck This unit specifies the outcomes required for the operation of a powered industrial truck equipped with a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachment, for licensing purposes. The flexibility meant I was able to choose when to study which was great for me with being able to fit it all in around work and my horses. The instructors were very knowledgeable, approachable and always had time to help me with my problems. With the training, knowledge and hands on skills I ve learnt, I am extremely confident that I will achieve my ultimate goal to be a horse trainer.
