2 Provide First Aid HLTAID003 (Level II Senior First Aid) This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. These skills and knowledge may be applied in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. Current first aid knowledge and skills in line with ARC Guidelines and guidelines of Australian national peak clinical bodies and State / Territory legislation and regulations. Study Mode: Flexible delivery,no pre-requisites FIRST AID & SAFETY HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (BELS) This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide an emergency response in a range of situations, include community and workplace settings. Study Mode: Flexible delivery,no pre-requisites Follow Safe Manual Handling Practices HLTHSE204D Manual handling is the biggest cause of workplace injury in Victoria. Last year, more than 10,000 people were injured as a result of unsafe manual handling. This unit is concerned with the workers ability to carry out their work in a safe manner within the health care environment. Work will usually be performed within a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures. 3 ICA10111 Certificate I Information, Digital and Media Technology This course is for students who want to improve on their basic computer skills. You will learn how to use a personal computer, use the Internet to send and retrieve information, and use Microsoft Word. This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to function at a basic level of ICT competency in the contemporary information society. It will enable a person to undertake basic ICT functions using a personal computer and to engage in fundamental online activities. Its objective is to enable people to acquire basic ICT knowledge and skills at a fundamental or foundation level. Study Mode: Classroom based. Pre-requisites: Intel Easy Steps preferred but not essential. Pathways: Certificate II in Information Technology BSB20112 Certificate II in Business This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of mainly routine tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context, working under direct supervision. Job Roles may include: Administration Assistant, Clerical Worker, Data Entry Operator, Information Officer or Receptionist. Study Mode: Flexible delivery (online with trainer support) No pre-requisites Pathways: Certificate III in Business Administration BSB30412 Certificate III in Business Administration This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply a broad range of administrative competencies in varied work contexts, using some discretion and judgement. They may provide technical advice and support to a team. Work may include Office Administrator, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Receptionist or Data Entry Operator. Study Mode: Flexible delivery (online with trainer support) Pre requisites: BSB20112 Certificate II in Business or other relevant qualification/s OR with vocational experience. 4 SIT30713 Certificate III in Hospitality This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in skilled operations in hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops. Individuals may have some responsibility for others and provide technical advice and support to a team. The qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway. Study Mode: Flexible delivery (with work placement) No pre-requisites Pathways: Employment in the hospitality industry may include bar attendant, barista, waiter, wine waiter, front desk receptionist, housekeeper or gaming attendant. HOSPITALITY SIT30813 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery This qualification reflects the role of commercial cooks who use a wide range of cookery skills. They use discretion and judgement and have a sound knowledge of kitchen operations. They work with some independence and under limited supervision and may provide operational advice and support to team members. The qualification provides a pathway to work in a Study Mode: Flexible delivery (with work placement) No pre-requisites. Pathways: Employment in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, catering operations, clubs, pubs cafes, cafeterias, coffee shops and institutions such as aged care facilities, hospitals, prisons and schools. Can be studied as an apprenticeship. SITHFAB201 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to responsibly sell or serve alcohol and to satisfy the requirements for responsible sale and service of alcohol (RSA) under state or territory legislation - VIC Study Mode: Flexible delivery, No pre-requisites SITXFSA101 Use Hygiene Practices for Food Safety This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to use personal hygiene practices to prevent contamination of food that might cause food-borne illnesses. It requires the ability to follow procedures and to identify and control food hazards. Study Mode: Flexible delivery, No pre-requisites SITXFSA101 Use hygienic practices for food safety SITXFSA201 Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to handle food safely during the storage, preparation, display, service and disposal of food. It requires the ability to follow procedures as outlined in a food safety program. Study Mode: Flexible delivery, No pre-requisites
5 CHC20112 Certificate II in Community Services This course aims to provide you with the first step to obtaining a qualification. Through theoretical and practical training this course will provide an introduction to a variety of community services qualifications, including aged care, disability work, youth work and children s services Study Mode: Flexible delivery Pre-requisites: No pre-requisites Pathways: Certificate III Aged Care, Disability, HACC, Childrens Services CHC30212 Certificate III in Aged Care This course is ideal for those who want to formalise their existing community work skills and those who wish to work in Aged Care facilities and care for the aged. This qualification addresses work primarily in residential facilities under direct or regular supervision within clearly defined organisation guidelines and service plans. These workers: Carry out activities to maintain personal care and/or other activities of living for people in an aged care setting, carry out activities related to an individualised plan and report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers. Police check and Work Placement is mandatory Study Mode: Flexible delivery Pre-requisites: No pre-requisites Pathways: Certificate IV Aged Care, Traineeship CHC30408 Certificate III Disability This qualification addresses work in the community and/or residential facilities under direct or regular supervision within clearly defined organisation guidelines and service plans. These workers may carry out activities to maintain personal care and/or other activities of living for people with a disability, Carry out activities related to an individualized plan, report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers. Police and Working with Children checks, and Work Placement is mandatory Study Mode: Flexible delivery Pre-requisites: No pre-requisites Pathways: Certificate IV Disability, Traineeship Police check and Work Placement is mandatory for successful completion of these courses. Working with Children check is required for disability courses. COMMUNITY SERVICES
6 CHC30312 Certificate III in Home and Community Care COMMUNITY SERVICES This qualification addresses work in client homes and other community settings under regular supervision within clearly defined organisational guidelines and service plans. These workers Carry out activities to maintain personal care and/ or other activities of living for people in their own homes or in other community settings. They also carry out activities related to an individualised plan and report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers. Occupational titles may include: Care assistant / worker, Home maintenance worker, Care service employees, In-home respite giver, Community care worker, Personal care assistant, Disability support worker or Home care worker. Police checks and Work Placement is mandatory. Study Mode: Flexible delivery Pre-requisites: No pre-requisites Pathways : Certificate IV Disability, Aged Care CHC40312 Certificate IV in Disability This qualification addresses work in residential group homes, Training resource centers, day respite centers and open employment services, other employment services, other community settings and client s homes. These workers may apply knowledge and skills to provide training and support to people with disabilities to enhance their ability to achieve greater levels of independence, self reliance and community participation, report to service managers and may liaise with health professionals and other service agencies, may work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise a limited number of staff. Study Mode: Flexible delivery Pre-requisites: No pre-requisites Pathways: Diploma of Disability CHC40108 Certificate IV in Aged Care This qualification addresses work primarily in residential facilities within defined organisation guidelines and service plans. These workers carry out activities related to maintaining an individual s wellbeing through personal care and/or other activities for living, may provide services to individuals with complex needs, and/or work with groups of older people. Work may include training and support to promote independence and community participation, in a variety of settings including residential and centre-based programs. Report to service managers and liaise with professionals and other service providers, may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers. Study Mode: Flexible delivery Pre-requisites: Certificate III in Aged Care Pathways: Diploma in Aged Care

9 Careers Goals & Pathways "This course is designed to address the issues that many students face; not having a clear career path and direction. The program will assist students to develop a personal profile to connect with them better and to identify the career path they are best suited for, based on their interests and basic skills. Learners will learn how put this information into a professional format and language in a resume. Learners will also research resume styles and learn how and how to set out a resume so that its clear and easy to read. Learners will also learn how to read a position description and pick out the key points, address selection criteria and write an effective cover letter Intel Easy Steps The Next Step To further enhance computer literacy skills including basic computer skills, using Microsoft products and the internet. Pathways to employment in an office/ administrative environment or Certificate I in Information, Communication Digital Technology offered at Murray ACE. Computerised Accounting - MYOB This course is designed for those who may have already obtained administration and computer skills and who need to add accounting software skills (MYOB) to enable them to apply for positions that are advertised. It may assist learners already in the workplace who need to up skill to move to a new position. Computerised Accounting Quickbooks This course is designed for those who may have already obtained administration and computer skills and who need to add accounting software skills (Quickbooks) to enable them to apply for positions that are advertised. It may assist learners already in the workplace who need to up skill to move to a new position. Workplace Language Literacy & Numeracy for CALD learners. This course will assist culturally and linquistically diverse (CALD) learnerd develope their language, literacy and numeracy skills using practical workplace examples. Subjects include: verbal and non verbal communication, handling money, reading labels and signs, health and safety and following procedures. This course may assist learners already in the workplace and will provide a pathway into Certificate in General Education or other Certificate II courses. PRE ACCREDITED COURSES
10 Practical Skills Revision for Aged Care This course has been developed to support students who have completed Certificate III in Aged Care, HACC or Disability but have as yet not been employed or who have been underemployed. The course will focus on refreshing essential workplace skills and include practical placement to ensure the learners have current industry knowledge. The course will lead to greater chance of employment and refresh learners who would like to undertake Certificate IV in Aged Care or Disability offered at Murray ACE. PRE ACCREDITED COURSES Digital Photography Learn how to use you new digital camera with the help of our experienced tutor. Learn about types of cameras - Digital SLR and Compact, Find out about capturing Light, exposure, composition and Focus, Shutter Speed, Night photography, Landscapes and much more. Digital Dark Room This course is the next step to Basic Digital Photography. You will learn how to create surreal images using photo editing software. You'll learn everything from completing basic image touch ups to creating visually stunning works of digital art. We will teach you how to manipulate each image until you achieve your desired results. Making a Successful Presentation Have you ever wondered how come some people have excellent presentation skills and can just get up and speak with confidence? Have you ever wished you could do it to?
