2 Description of Qualification This qualification reflects the role of individuals with substantial experience in a range of settings who are seeking to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions. This qualification is also suited to the needs of individuals with little or no vocational experience, but who possess sound theoretical business skills and knowledge that they would like to develop in order to create further educational and employment opportunities. Entry Requirements There are no entry requirements for this qualification. Pathways into the qualification Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include: BSB40215 Certificate IV in Business or other relevant qualification OR with vocational experience in a range of work environments in senior support roles but without a qualification. Pathways from the qualification BSB60215 Advanced Diploma of Business or a range of other Advanced Diploma qualifications. Competencies required to obtain Qualifications To receive BSB50215 Diploma of Business, learners must complete eight (8) elective units of competency as specified in the national training package. This qualification has no core units. Vocational Outcomes Students will gain skills and knowledge required for employment in a business related positions such as: Executive Officer Program Consultant Program Coordinator Business Manager or Operator Page 1

Develop and maintain professional competence BSBWRT401 Write complex documents This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to plan documents, draft text, prepare final text and produce documents of some complexity. It applies to individuals who work in a range of business environments and are skilled in the creation of reports, information and general promotion documents that are more complex than basic correspondence, memos or forms and that require review and analysis of a range of information sources. 1. 4 BSBADM502 - Manage meetings This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage a range of meetings including overseeing the meeting preparation processes, chairing meetings, organising the minutes and reporting meeting outcomes. 1. Follow up meetings BSBCUS501 Manage quality customer service This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop strategies to manage organisational systems that ensure products and services are delivered and maintained to standards agreed by the organisation. It applies to individuals who supervise the provision of quality customer service within an organisation s procedures framework by others. At this level, individuals must exercise considerable discretion and judgement, using a range of problem solving and decision making strategies. 1. Monitor, adjust and review customer service BSBRSK501 - Manage risk This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage risks in a range of contexts across the organisation or for a specific business unit or area. 1. 5 This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to develop and implement a workplace sustainability policy, including the modification of the policy to suit changed circumstances. This unit requires the ability to access industry information, applicable legislative and occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines. 1. Develop workplace sustainability policy 2.
