3 UBCM Convention Experience As the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) celebrates its 112 th year, the annual conference will be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre, September At this year s 2015 Convention, nearly 2,000 delegates from 196 member communities are expected to attend the policy sessions and trade show. The week long UBCM Convention includes nearly 50 workshops, clinics, forums and plenary sessions. The trade show, held biennially, is the largest exhibition style event for BC Local Government, and has sold out since inception. With a proven track record of almost two decades, the 2015 Trade Show offers organizations excellent exposure, branding opportunities, and an exceptional return on investment. 4 Trade Show Fast Facts Why The Trade Show The trade show was originally created to satisfy UBCM members' requests for a time-efficient and cost-effect way to make new business contacts while attending their annual conference. Today, the trade show provides a unique opportunity for suppliers, service providers, agencies and associations to promote and connect with local government and regional district representatives all in one locale! Who Attends The Show Elected Officials, including Mayors, Councillors, and Regional District Directors as well as senior, non-elected local officers such as Government Finance Officers, Corporate Administrative Officers, and City and Purchasing Managers attend.
