Born into poverty, violence and bigotry, Spider survived the treacherous streets of a vicious world most of us only see on the six o clock news to become one of the most charismatic motivational speakers of our time. The goal of the auction is to help Spider raise the funds to be able to continue to provide schools and community outreach groups with motivational seminars, workshops and a host of keynote speakers who inspire by sharing their own true life stories. Spider is dedicated to inspiring youth to stay in school and pursue their dreams through education and skilled trades. Funds raised by this event will also support the recently opened Spider s Web Youth Empowerment Centre allowing Spider and his team of mentors to work with up to 60 youths a day. Spider has one of the most extraordinary and touching stories I ve ever heard. It is amazing to see the impact he has on students. His lessons on dealing with peer-pressure, racial harmony, bullying and low self esteem are incredibly insightful. He makes you believe nothing is impossible. The students were so receptive they actually mobbed him afterwards with tons of questions and requests for autographs. Cathy Heaney Teacher, R.A. Sennet Public School, Oshawa) Spider Jones possesses that rare gift which enables him to hold young people s attention like few speakers I ve ever heard. His fascinating message is an inspiration to anyone fortunate enough to hear him. Thank you for bringing good things to so many lives! ABOUT BELIEVE TO ACHIEVE EMPOWER, BELIEVE, ACHIEVE & SUCCEED Believe to Achieve is a registered non-profit charity with a "MISSION" To inspire 'at-risk-youth', students and troubled teens to remain in school and make achieving dreams a reality. BTA, based in Toronto, is managed and aggressively driven by media personality and three time Golden Glove boxing champion, Chuck 'Spider' Jones and his support team. Our "MISSION" and methods are simple. We engage 'at-risk-kids', youth and troubled teens in face-to-face groups, workshops and youth counseling sessions with their peers. Youth engagement and communication conducted on their turf and language with an inspiring motivator and facilitator - Spider Jones. Believe To Achieve Organization: A REGISTERED CANADIAN CHARITY is a non-denominational, youth empowerment and outreach organization targeting kids regardless of race, physical traits, social status, community, cultural background or other life limiting obstacles/restrictions. A major part of BTA s energy goes into the Spider s Web Youth Empowerment Centre, an after-school drop-in centre in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue area. The centre is open six days a week and sees up to 60 youths each night. It provides meals, homework help, computer rooms, teaching guides and a number of programs. We are actually changing lives because these kids now have a place to come, they have a place to be mentored, they have a place to hone their skills. These kids need that strong mentorship that we provide. ~Spider Jones Achievement and success in life are attainable, realistic life goals which are learned behaviour for personal implementation. BTA is committed to using all means available as communication channels to students and supporters. BTA provides incentive programs and events to augment our relationship based, face-to-face and personal meetings. OUR MISSION Our mission is to inspire the youth to stay in school and pursue their dreams through education and skilled trades. We are achieving these goals by providing schools and community out reach groups with motivational seminars, workshops and a host of keynote speakers who inspire by sharing their own true life stories. We mentor in three crucial areas: 1. Dealing with peer pressure; 2. Building strong self esteem; and 3. Setting personal objectives and goals for achievement. 2
EDUCATE, COUNSEL & 'MENTOR' Provide tangible support and mentoring services to youth in need. Provide employment training and opportunities, job search assistance, academic and athletic scholarship support and counseling. EMPOWER YOUTH SUCCESS Deliver life 'tools'' for achievement to youth. Open doors for groups to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes to disarm and manage violence and peer sanctions. DEFINE SUCCESS & ACHIEVEMENT Youth learn self actualization with self esteem counseling. BTA aims delivery of these learned behavioural techniques and processes - achievement through belief in self. Make learning fun! 3
