3 ABOUT OUR MISSION To provide support and financial assistance to families with critically ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; and to enhance the well-being of women, children and their families through education, prevention and medical care. OUTREACH PROGRAMS HEALTHY WOMEN HEALTHY CHILDREN Miracle Babies seeks to address the issue of maternal health by partnering with the YMCA to provide a weight management and nutrition program to reproductive age women who are at risk for preterm birth. The purpose of this program is to reduce the number of babies who end up in the NICU by focusing on the health of the woman. Women who are obese at childbearing age are at higher risk for infertility, miscarriage, gestational diabetes and hypertension. FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM The founding purpose of Miracle Babies is to help qualified families meet their basic expenses while they are caring for an infant in the (NICU). In coordination with the referring hospital, Miracle Babies evaluates each families need by considering several factors, including, income-to-debt ratio, gestational age of child at time of birth, length of stay in the NICU as well as the severity and nature of birth abnormalities, and distribute grants to families based on their need. Each family is also connected with our Family Network for educational and emotional support. RAISING MIRACLES A child s development is critical in the early years of their lives, and a positive, productive environment only enhances their chances to have a happy, and successful life in the future. Raising Miracles is a program designed to support healthy development in infants and children. Through Raising Miracles, families will learn about important developmental milestones, education and awareness for early intervention and coordinated care. 4 EVENTS MIRACLE BABIES 5K RUN/WALK AND CELEBRATION OF LIFE RESOURCE FAIR MAY Our 6th Annual Miracle Babies 5k at Embarcadero Park. The day will include a 5k family 4 6TH ANNUAL walk/run, a Celebration of Life resource fair, family friendly music, a kid s play zone and MIRACLE will feature a coordination course for kids 3 and up and a diaper dash for kids under 3. BABIES KIDS WORLD ZONE & INFLATABLE RESOURCE FAIR SUM 14 GOLF TOURNAMENT Tee off with our first annual Miracle Babies Golf Tournament that will take place this summer. This event will take place sometime in June/July 2014, please contact us for further details.
