Event Overview Name of Event: Soirée for Play Date: Thursday, December 13, 2012; 7:00 PM 11:00 PM Expected Audience: Over 10,000 online consumers and 4,000+ Merritt members and guests in attendance Event Summary: Merritt Athletic Club hosts an annual holiday party to bring their members together to celebrate the holiday season. This year, Playworks has been selected as the nonprofit partner (beneficiary organization) for their holiday party. Join our loyal supporters, volunteers, employees, and friends for a night of fun - in true Playworks style! It s a party within a party and you are a VIP! Your ticket to the Soirée for Play gives you exclusive access to the Playworks VIP Lounge where you can play the night away. You'll be sure to work up an appetite with all of the extra-curricular activities! Enjoy food and drinks from your favorite restaurants and bars in Baltimore. We want you to dance to the hottest sounds from one of Baltimore s premier musicians, jump in a game of Four Square in the Playground Game room, and make your move in a game of Connect Four in the Board Game room. For those who are less inclined to show-off their playful moves, there s more time to talk, drink, eat and enjoy the silent auction. The official dress is playful cocktail attire. Interpret as you wish. There is also access to plenty of street parking and open (secured) parking garages and lots around the building. All proceeds from the VIP event will benefit Playworks and the 10,000 students in 24 Baltimore City schools. 2. About Playworks Playworks is a national nonprofit and has been in Baltimore since In Baltimore, we work in 24 Baltimore City schools, playing with over 10,000 students every school day. Playworks provides safe, healthy, and inclusive play to low-income elementary schools by placing a highly trained "coach" on the playground at recess to introduce games designed to build leadership, self-esteem, and foster teamwork. As a result, kids return to class focused and ready to learn and teachers can use class time for teaching instead of resolving conflicts from the recess yard. Our after-school programs and sports leagues continue to reinforce the valuable lessons learned throughout the school day. Our strategy for making healthy recess and physical activity a part of every student's day improves the entire school climate and has transformed hundreds of schools across the country.

Play in the office leads to play outside, where employees join a Playworks coach at a local school to help lead recess with the kids. Corporate Social Responsibility We ask our corporate sponsors for several things. First, we ask for a donation.
