(IDSEF), a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, I would like to offer you the opportunity to support scholarships for outstanding college-bound students as a sponsor of the IDSEF and its signature event, the Black and Gold Scholarship Ball. On Saturday, June 20, 2015, the IDSEF in partnership with the Xi Alpha Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will host this exciting, black-tie gala at the Falls Church Marriott Fairview Park hotel. The event annually attracts more than 650 people from the Greater Washington D.C. metro area. The IDSEF relies on the support of caring members of the community to fund its scholarships. In 2014, the IDSEF distributed $12,000 in scholarships to local students. Since its founding more than 20 years ago and with the support of the community, the IDSEF has provided more than $135,000 in scholarships. (IDSEF) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. More specifically, the purpose of the IDSEF is to provide scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students. The IDSEF was founded by the Xi Alpha Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and was incorporated on June 9, Over the years the IDSEF has awarded more than $135,000 to more than 100 students. 2 Top Five Reasons You Should Support the Ira Dorsey Scholarship Endowment Fund, Inc. 1. Scholarships Providing scholarships is our organization s sole purpose! The IDSEF was developed to help defray college expenses for deserving students in their scholarly pursuits at a college or university of their choice. 2. Tax deduction The donations that we receive are tax deductible and the IDSEF provides tax receipts to our contributors. Please consult with your tax advisor to ensure compliance within the full extent of applicable tax laws. 3. Advertising investment Contributing to the IDSEF is a near term investment for you or your organization. Consider the demographics of the members of the IDSEF, including its board of directors: The members of the IDSEF are influential leaders in the local area with expendable income. Out of the 200 members of the IDSEF, 100% are college educated; 78% own their own homes; 34% own investment properties; and 78% have household incomes in excess of $100,000 per year.
