3 WHAT is MBA Challenge 4 charity (C4C)? MBA Challenge for Charity is a non-profit organization that draws on the talents, energy, and resources of MBA students from nine west coast business schools to support the Special Olympics and the Boys & Girls Clubs, and to develop business leaders with a lifelong commitment to community involvement and social responsibility. Since 1986, these 9 schools have competed annually to obtain the coveted Golden Briefcase through volunteering, fundraising, and participation in a sports weekend (pictured above). How does Foster fare against other C4C competitors such as Stanford, USC, Pepperdine, Berkeley, UC Irvine, UC Davis, and UCLA? We have brought home the golden briefcase 7 times! Real winners are the charities, children, and our community. Since C4C s inception, the students of Foster have volunteered more than 19,000 hours and raised more than $1,000,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County and Special Olympics Washington (SOWA). Foster MBAs take a Northwest spin on how we raise money with a winter Polar Plunge (pictured below left) and summer Mt. Rainier climb in addition to tutoring kids, skiing with SOWA athletes, helping out at the U District food bank, and more. The Challenge is just one way the Foster School connects to its community via relationships that benefit not just students but also charities, non-profits, and minority businesses. 3

4 Boys & Girls Clubs of King County gives kids a place to call their own, where they can have fun, get a hot meal, be creative, be a part of a team, get help with homework or just hang out with friends. The Boys & Girls Clubs offer safe, fun, inclusive, and inspiring places that kids and their families count on every day. Thirteen locations with open doors throughout King County create space for children and teens to learn, create, and attain their best in academics, athletics, and more. C4C ORGANIZATIONS TOGETHER, WE RE CHANGING LIVES. Special Olympics Washington provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. 4

5 2013 EVENT: BLACK, WHITE & PURPLE Last year s event saw new and old friends alike come together to make the C4C auction a super success. Our Live Auction highlights included an African safari, a Top Gun-style fighter jet experience, a soccer clinic with the Seattle Sounders, and much, much more! With the help of our generous sponsors, donors, and volunteers, we raised over $70,000 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of King County and the Special Olympics Washington. 6 2014 gatsby gala: Event Information The 22 nd Annual C4C Auction Gala will take place on the evening of Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Great Hall at Union Station in Seattle, WA, and will bring together over 400 current and future leaders of business communities throughout the Northwest. We are making strides to make this the most memorable and successful auction yet, including the addition of 50 VIP tickets with preferred seating and gift bags, improved marketing benefits across all levels of sponsorship, and exciting new contributors to our silent and live auctions. This year, we are also looking for small items to include in our VIP gift bags.
