2 Dear Supporter, On Saturday, May 9, 2015, Make-A-Wish South Carolina will host our annual Wish Ball at the South Carolina State Museum in Columbia. Make-A-Wish is a nonprofit organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. A wish experience can be a game-changer for our wish kids. This one belief guides us in everything we do. It inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve. Most of all, it s the founding principle of our vision to grant the wish of every eligible child in our state. Wishes are more than just a nice thing. They are far more than gifts, or singular events in time. Wishes impact everyone involved - wish kids, volunteers, donors, sponsors, medical professionals and communities. The impact varies. For wish kids, just the act of making their wish come true can give them the courage to comply with their medical treatments. Parents might finally feel like they can be optimistic. And still others might realize all they have to offer the world through volunteer work or philanthropy. Whatever the odds, whatever the obstacles... wishes find a way to make the world better. Our Wish Ball is our major signature event of the year. The ball, which celebrates the mission of Make-A-Wish South Carolina by raising funds to grant the wishes of South Carolina children with life-threatening medical conditions, has been a significant event for the chapter. This year is a special time in our history as we mark our 30th anniversary of granting wishes to South Carolina children. At this year s Ball, we will celebrate thirty years of service and over 2,000 granted wishes! Joined by our most prominent donors and supporters, we are expecting a record number of formally attired guests to attend. Also, our goal is to raise a record $90,000 to directly benefit the children we serve and their families. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour, a silent and live auction, a seated dinner, and dancing. Most importantly, throughout the evening, we will honor some of our wish recipients and share the magic that Make-A-Wish creates. The Wish Ball is a unique way for your company to become involved in the mission of Make- A-Wish South Carolina. One special evening will help grant wishes, renewing the courage and determination of kids with life-threatening medical conditions in South Carolina.
