1 2012 WHAT IF...? GALA EVENT OCTOBER 13, 2012 SPONSORSHIP OBJECTIVE Sponsorship of the 2012 What If...? Gala event offers you an avenue to meet prominent Dallas community and humanitarian leaders while empowering Ugandan children and African Refugee youth towards academic achievement and lifelong success. Event attendance is anticipated to be approximately WHAT IF? GALA EVENT The annual What If...? Gala is the premier fundraising and awareness raising event for Humanitarian Hands Charities. The event shines a light on the issues surrounding Ugandan youth and the infinite potential that they hold. We will also share the highlights of our project with the African Refugee Youth that live in our communities. The evening begins at Hotel Intercontinental Dallas in Addison with a VIP and cocktail hour followed by a sumptuous dinner and musical entertainment by Fort Worth s award winning jazz artist, Tatiana Mayfield & Band. Throughout the evening we will be directed in our agenda by HHCharities featured special guest and Essence Magazine s Editor-at-Large, Mikki Taylor. Immediately following dinner, guests are invited to participate in a silent auction that will be graced with art work from Africa. Before the evening is over, two Ugandan students will be honored with scholarships for outstanding academic achievement, in partnership with Dallasbased nonprofit agency, Empower African Children. ABOUT HUMANITARIAN HANDS CHARITIES Humanitarian Hands Charities was founded in 2006 by Ray and Mary Christopher in response to the growing number of orphans in Uganda. HHCharities empowers African youth to create a hopeful, sustainable future for themselves and their communities by providing housing, healthcare, quality education, and job skills training paving foundations to sustainable futures. As the number of orphans in Fort Portal, Uganda rises; HHCharities ultimate challenge is to build a children s home to house and educate 500 parentless children to move them towards a brighter future.
