2 Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada is a leading provider of after school programs that support the healthy physical, educational and social development of 200,000 young people and their families each year. Through an association of Clubs in more than 500 community locations across Canada, dedicated, trained staff and volunteers offer programs during before and after school hours in physical recreation, educational support, technology, the arts, youth leadership and more. Many Clubs also provide healthy meals, family support programs, emergency shelters and other supports to children and youth at risk. Each Club creates a safe, positive and enriching environment where children and youth are supported to explore their interests and experience new opportunities, build positive relationships with peers and adult role models, overcome personal challenges and develop confidence and skills that will sustain them throughout their lives. This conference provides the only opportunity for staff and volunteers to gather together to learn from one another, hear from experts, develop best practices, and strategize about future club programs and ways in which we can best help our children and youth. Each of the categories will serve as a catalyst for building on skills and knowledge to assist Boys and Girls Clubs in the provision of life changing and enhancing programs for children, youth and families in communities across the country.
